In 1904- 1905, Reverend Elisha Beattie served as pastor of the Methodist Church for twelve years before he died suddenly at age sixty-one years old. His successor Reverend Jno Pemberton served for six months before he too died suddenly at age seventy-six years old prior to being able to take office full time again due to illness). The first post office in Channahon was established on October 25th of 1873 by Amos Morse with ZIP code 62515 (now 62714). At this time there were only three homes and twenty people living in Channahon when it opened its doors; however by 1886 there had grown to thirty-five residences within the town limits alone! There are several churches located throughout the community which include: First Baptist Church (founded 1865), Methodist Churches (1871-1974), Presbyterian Churches (1901-2006), Catholic Churches (1901) - all of which are still functioning today! also located nearby are an elementary school (opened 1909) and a high school (opened 1966).

Channahon, Illinois is a small town located in Kane County, Illinois. The population was 697 as of the 2010 census. Channahon is known for its small-town feel and its rich history. The town was founded in 1837 by John C. Chapman and his wife, Sarah Ewing Chapman. The Chapman family operated a farm here until their death in 1901. In 1881, Channahon became the home of J.C. Forbes's grocery store which remains open today as one of the most successful grocery stores in the area. For many years, Channahon was also served by the Kane County Courthouse where court cases were heard and decisions made until it moved to larger facilities in 1995. The village of Channahon developed around two schools which were built at different times in the early 1800s: One from 1818 to 1830 and another from 1840 to 1850.. These schools are now both gone but their legacy lives on through various businesses that have been established within Channahon over the years such as Hardee's hamburger restaurant, Dale's Diner, Jimmy Johns Pizza Place, Dairy Queen and more! Today, there are still a few shops that serve local residents including Hardee's Hamburgers & Hamburgers 2 Go (formerly Waffle House), Dale's Diner (closed down since 2017), Jimmy Johns Pizza Place (closed down since 2017) and more!
Channahon, Illinois was founded in 1831 by George Washington Channahon and his wife. The Channahon family were the first white settlers in the area. In 1837, they established a mill on the banks of the Ottawa River. In 1840, they built a house on Indian Road, which is now known as Main Street. The Channahon family continued to operate their mill until it burned down in 1865. They also operated a store and school from their home until 1881.
