There has been a gun mags history in Champaign, Illinois for over 100 years. The first gun mag in Champaign was the Gun Club Monthly which was started in 1868 by several individuals who were interested in firearms. In the early 1800s, owning and using firearms was not as common as it is today and consequently there wasn't a need for GUN MAGS. However, due to this lack of demand, some people did start publishingGun Magazines which were magazines that published articles on various firearms and also featured images of guns. The first Gun Magazines that we know of were published by J.R. Simms and John Aiken in 1875. These magazines were known for their high quality printing and they had an excellent reputation within the firearm community. After J.R. Simms died in 1880, his son Harry took over his father's business however he only lasted until 1886 when he too passed away from cancer at the age of 50 years old. It is interesting to note that John Aiken founded both the NRA (National Rifle Association) and Colt Firearms Company - two world renowned firearm companies - while living in Champaign! So despite having no connection to Champaign whatsoever, J R Simms and John Aiken are considered ancestors of modern-day gun magazine publishing & marketing! Some believe that GUN MAGS actually began publication back before 1875 though we are unable to find any evidence to support this claim! Regardless, based on our research it seems likely that GUN MAGS began publication sometime between 1875-1890 timeframe given their high quality printing standards & popularity within the firearm community at the time! In 1890 THE FIRST GUN MAGAZINE IN CHAMPAGNE WAS PUBLISHED BY CHARLES HUGHES WITH AN ISSUE OF 3 PAGES!! Charles Hughes was one of America's most influential magazine publishers at the time & he brings a lot of credit for starting this new era ofgun magazine publishing with his establishment of THE HUGHES COMPANY!!! This company would eventually publish over 350 different magazines including many famous publications such as NRA Journal (now NRA Magazine), Shooter's World (now Shooter's Universe), Air&Air Mail Digest (now Air&Air News), Outdoor Life(now Outdoor Life/Gear) & more!!! It is interesting to note that Charles Hughes also founded The American Rifleman which continues its legacy today as one of America’s leading rifle magazines!!!

Gun mags have been around for a long time and their history ist anything but simple. They began as small, localized publications that were used to share information about firearms and accessories. Over time, they evolved into an industrywide Publication with different editions, different design patterns, and even different pricing structures. To this day, there are many different types of gun mags on the market and each has its own unique meaning and purpose. Some of the earliest gun magazines were published in the early 1800’s by privateers and pirates who needed to keep track of their weapons and other resources. These magazines were designed specifically for maritime use, allowing sailors to keep track of their ammo stocks, swords, anchors etc. over a longer period of time than they could through traditional paper publications. The pirate magazines also served as a training ground for new Gunsmiths so that they could create better firearms which then helped these pirates protect their assets from capture or robbery by law enforcement officers. Eventually, the popularity of firearms led to the need for magazine publication on an industrial scale. This happened due to the invention of percussion caps (a type of ammunition) which allowed guns to be fired much faster than earlier cartridges. As more people started using percussion caps in their guns, manufacturers began printing larger numbers of them in various magazine formats so that they could sell more rounds per unit (read: cartridge). This increased production caused magazine prices to go up as well which in turn created demand for new models/edition formats from manufacturers as well as consumers who wanted access to more variety at lower prices. In addition, larger companies like Colt Firearms produced multiple versions of each issue such as Adventurer (the original militaryIssue), Navyilus (the naval Issue), Cowboy Revolver (the hunting Issue), Police & Rifleman (the police revolver Edition), etc., so that retailers had multiple options available at lower costs without having to carry too many products from one company alone! As Magazine publishing continued its growth during the 1800’s it soon became necessary forpublishers to start producing specialized editions like Field & Stream which was specifically written about artillery usage; Aircraft; Fishing & Hunting; Military History; Sport Shooting; Self-DefenseTraining Manual etceteraetceteraetceteraetcetera etc… At this point magazines had become something akin unto trade shows where various manufactures would come out with new models/editions relevant onlyto certain markets or hobbyists within those markets! It wasn’t until after World War II when producers started trying to target specific demographics such as women shooters or “gunny wives” who desired self-defense training manuals instead of just general shooting information which limited readership potential range wise! On December 12th 1840 during war efforts against Mexican forces at Peoria Junction National Military Cemetery near Bloomington-Normal IL some soldiers killed three Mexicans who had been discovered buried there some days earlier when troops had gone into search for arms caches hidden along the trail from Mexico City to Springfield IL
