Champaign, Illinois is home to the world’s second largest handgun repository and has been a center of firearms industry activity since 1871. The city was also the site of the first public shooting in Illinois on December 5, 1871. The event was an annual gathering ofifleters and shotgunners at Champaign Rifle and Pistol club which was attended by legislators from around the state. The first firearm clothing store in Champaign opened its doors in 1892. At that time, gun enthusiasts in the city were still using traditional woolen cloth coverings for their firearms. By 1915, however, pistol manufacturers had started to produce ammunition cases with metal covers that allowed guns to be stored more securely inside storage buildings. In 1916, Armoury Arms Corporation began selling pistols with blueprints attached which made them visible from a distance and became known as “Blue-Belt Pistols”. In 1921, American Armory Corporation began producing handguns with both blueprints and injection molded parts which allowed for quick conversions between revolvers and shotguns. This innovation helped make Chicago one of the most prolific handgun markets in America at that time. American Armory Corporation would go on to become one of the largest firearms companies in history with operations located throughout North America including subsidiaries in Canada and Mexico as well as domestically here in Champaign County. In 1949, Western Arms Corporation began productizing receivers extension tubes which made it possible for shooters to mountims (mounting devices) onto their rifles without having to remove them entirely from their rifles. This innovation would later become known as “Rifle Mounting Systems” or RMS for short. It wasn’t until 1970 when International Harvester Company introduced their versions of rifle mounting systems which offered a variety of different installation options such as Weaver rails or Picatinny rails allowing users to customize their rifle setups any way they wanted while still retaining functionality/ adjustability within these systems). By 1978, all major firearm manufacturers had begun offering complete firearms assemblies (guns Completely assembled including stocks/stocksets/muzzle brakes/muzzles etc.) All parts required for assembly were available either online or through local stores such as Gunsmiths Unlimited where customers could purchase these assemblies direct from manufacturers or through distributors like Brownells Incorporated who functioned as middlemen between dealers and manufacturers). On February 22nd 1818 – two days after his inauguration – Abraham Lincoln made an official address to the citizens of Springfield from Montrose Park overlooking downtown Champaign while he waited for his carriage to take him across State Street into Springfield Armory where he would deliver his inaugural address four days later On July 4th 1830 John Quincy Adams hosted a celebration at Montrose Park honoring American independence from Great Britain during which Adams shared a toast with then Vice President Martin Van Buren In 1835 Josephine Perry married Samuel Wigglesworth; they lived at home until their move to New York City in 1840 When she died suddenly three years later he married her sister Lucy Ewing White also living at home but moving back to Springfield soon afterward Lucy's death caused John Quincy Adams' daughter Abigail Adams Wigglesworth (married second cousin once removed) to become engaged to another brother Jonathan Edwards who was living with them when Lucy died so she could marry Edwards Two years later John QuincyAdams remarried Agnes Greenoughwhites moved back outstate but continued liveing with her 2 grandsons

Champaign is a city in Illinois, United States. The population was 31,907 at the 2010 census. Champaign is the largest city in the Urbana-Champaign Metropolitan Statistical Area, which has a population of 151,243 as of 2013. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) is located in Champaign. The history of Champaign goes back to 1795 when John Marshall and his group founded the first school in what is now Champaign County. In 1801, General James K. Polk moved his army from Knoxville to Monticello and established an artillery battery there that became known as "Kilpatrick's Point". On November 3rd, 1802, General David Artemus Wright attacked and destroyed a village on the banks of the River Des Plaines after eight days' fighting during which 2 people were killed and 10 wounded; this event was known as "the Battle of Peoria". On February 14th, 1809 Colonel George Rogers Clark arrived in Springfield with a force numbering over 100 men under cover of darkness and surprised two companies of cavalry led by Captain Samuel Pemberton who had been waiting for him south of town; this marked the beginning of American Indian Wars in Illinois. In 1830, John Davenport donated land east of downtown for use as a college campus; UIUC was established on this property in 1831. One hundred acres (40 hectares) were reserved along State Street between First Avenue and Elm Street for housing purposes while more than 60 acres (24 hectares) near the north side Of State Street were used for agricultural experimentation; this area later became known as UIUC Park.. In 1837–38 Charles Wesley Smith served as President pro tempore and Asst Professor Presbyterian Divinity School while also holding other office within UIUC administration including Provost Marshal and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. In 1840 he resigned due to ill health but remained until his death three years later.. During World War II UIUC students served in various roles such as working on weapons testing sites throughout Illinois including at URANFARBAY radio station where they developed radar technology
