In 1838, Nathan Kapp bought land next to German Hill and began to build a house which he named Kapp's Cabin. When he died in 1848, his wife inherited his land and continued to live there until her death in 1861. She left behind two children- also named Nathan- who started building houses on their own property around 1850s BCW (before Census Ward). In 1865 when it became clear that African Americans were not going to be accepted as residents of any branch of society within all five townships serving Carbondale County (north central Illinois), they petitioned county authorities for protection under the Kentucky Free Black Protection Act which afforded them rights similar to those enjoyed by white citizens within those townshipsgraniteville Township (west central Illinois), middlesex Township (southwestern Illinois), la Salle Township (central Illinois), and Washington Township (eastern Illinois). George Washington went so far as to sign legislation helping these black citizens gain their rights! This type of activism helped spur development within these communities as blacks began migrating into southernIndiana Territory during this time period seeking equal treatment under American law! In 1892 when Cyrus Vance installed James Buchanan as president, one key issue facing America was control over Mexico City resulting from an ongoing war with Spain which had ended three years earlier with Mexican independence achieved through a series of treaties negotiated between Spain and France! President Clinton attempted unsuccessfully to renegotiate these treaties leading up to NAFTA which brought about increased competition between countries results in high tariffs being placed on many products exported by both sides!!! As recently as 1990s dollars there were still individual stores remaining open along old Route 66 where you could purchase items such as candy bars etc., even though most businesses closed dueto economic conditions!! The arrival of automobiles led many farmers into becoming truck drivers; this greatly expanded opportunities for agriculture but also created problems since much freight traffic crossedroads near large cities creating numerous accidents!. One result was that families stopped buying eggs because they no longer could get them shipped fresh across country!!! As late as the early 2000s some people still used traditional methods such as haying or burning straw dumplings called 'paprika' at Easter services!!
In 1815, the first Methodist church in Cary was organized. The congregation grew and by 1832 had built a large building on the east side of Main Street. In 1847, they moved to their present location. The Methodists have been in Cary since then and continue to serve the community today.
