Firearms have been a part of the Carpentersville community for many years. There are stories of early residents carrying firearms to protection during times of war or natural disasters. Today, there are many people who own and use firearms in their everyday lives. Firearms t-shirts are a way to remember these history and keep the tradition alive. The first handgun in Carpentersville was likely a revolver made by September Manufacturing Company in 1854. In 1860, the town incorporated and began using an arming ordinance requiring everyone to possess at least one weapon on their person at all times. This ordinance also required that handguns be kept unloaded and unsecured within the home. It is likely that this law was inspired by events in Missouri where armed citizens were necessary to suppress riots between farmers and slaveowners. In 1871, there was an attempt to pass a bill establishing a militia in Carpentersville. The measure failed due to strong opposition from local businesses which felt that they would be left out of the militia if it were created specifically for them; instead, it became known as the "Carpentersville Bill." On October 1, 1903, Carpentersville had its first fireworks display when 13 cannons were fired off from McCook Field east of town center. At this time, gunfire wasn't allowed on public property so celebration ensued with music and dancing throughout townCenter while spectators gathered around each cannon reading articles about the event on large signs held up along Main Street (now US Highway 24). "That's How We Do It In Illinois!" read one such sign from 1911-1912 (see attached photo). After WWII ended with victory over Japan, many Americans returned homeand gun control laws changed againin 1949 when Congress passed sweeping legislation which banned automatic pistols without any serial number! That same year saw the introduction of pistol t-shirts as part of NRA marketing campaigns across America! Pistol t-shirts quickly became popular among Gun Owners Everywhere thanks in part to movie stars like Clint Eastwood sporting them at public functions!" (Dixon) Today, some residents still maintain arms caches inside their homes against possible terrorist threats or other emergencies should things get bad outside our normal community life style(Walsh)."

Carpentersville is a city in the U.S. state of Illinois, and the home to the Carpentersville High School football team. The population was 9,895 at the 2010 census. It incorporated as a town in 1871, but lost its status as a town after two referendums in 1930 and 1966. As of the 2010 census, it had an estimated population of 8,512. The area that now makes up Carpentersville was first settled by Methodists in 1795. They built their first log cabin on the banks of the stream which flows through town today. By 1800, they had established themselves as a farming community with several hundred acres (100 ha) of landowning families who raised corn and other crops supplemented by hunting and trapping activities. In 1871, when Carbondale was founded nearby (then known as Terre Haute), Methodists decided to move their church from Terre Haute to Carbondale so that they could be closer to their congregations andchildren throughout Northwest Indiana Territory under the jurisdiction of Zion Methodist Church’s Presiding Elder Wm Hurlbutt III.. The decision not only saved money for Carbondale’s finances but also allowed them access to more fertile ground for farming due to changes in local weather patterns since early 1800s when navigation around present-day Lake Michigan was difficult without reliable charts or landmarks.. In 1830, voters in Carbondale selected “town” over “village” on two separate ballots because they felt that “township provides better governmental facilities than village does; township has been kept cleanlinesswise while village has not; there are no negroes living within our limits while there are many black people living near Village; our citizens have always been honorable towards strangers… [and] we look forward with pleasure to continued advances made by your society." After losing its status as village following an election approved by both governing councils on May 26th, 1966 – again amid concerns about lack of infrastructure/civilian services/quality of life withinTownship – Carbondale voted itself back into townhoodstatus on November 16th following a petition drive spearheaded by Mayor Bud Whitehurst and Vice President Dick Cheney Jr.– then newly elected mayor after Cook County's 3rd party split during Barack Obama's presidential election victory over John McCain– ensuring that "Carpentersville" would remain one small part of what is now Cook County until at least 2026 when all villages will be merged into one big countywide government structure under new commissioners appointed pursuant to provisions set forth in General Election Law No 2 OF 2006." A number of businesses have been located here since these early days including Carpenter's Supplies & Hardware (founded 1872), Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company (established 1915), Bethlehem Steel Corporation (established 1916), First National Bank (founded 1918), Monsanto Co., Incorporated (formed 1946) and American Weigh Scales Company (formed 1951). Today few if any buildings from those times remain extant save for some farmsteads still used for agriculture or lumber production dating back to before World War II along with some historic buildings currently used for offices orresidential purposes such as Town Hall which dates back to 1907 and Social Services Administration Building which date backto 1935-.

Carpentersville is a small town in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,898 at the 2010 census. Carpentersville is located just south of the village of Bloomingdale and east of the city of Carbondale. It is bordered by Carbondale to the north and east, Rome on the south and west, and White Township to the northwest. The first settlers in Carpentersville were James Pritchard and his family who arrived in 1822 from England. In 1827 John Bicknell moved to Carpentersville from Winchester, Massachusetts with his wife Martha Ann (née Smith). They established a farm that became known as "Bicknell's Corner". The original white house still stands today on Elm Street in town. A post office was established at Carpentersville in 1830, but it had no real importance until 1851 when it was renamed "Bloomingdale." In 1854 Abraham Green bought land adjacent to what is now Carbondale from Jethro Farnham for $500. He started construction on a grist mill which he named "Farnham's Mill". When it began operation in October 1855 it was one of the largest mills in Illinois. In 1865 George Washington Fuller erected a large frame structure on present-day Elm Street for use as a schoolhouse. This building still stands today and has been used as a museum since 1966. For many years Carpenterstown also served as an agricultural fairground where rodeos, carnivals, agricultural shows, etc., were held annually during summertime. During World War II many young men from throughout McLean County volunteered their time or money to help build military vehicles or serve overseas with various units including Engine Company 131st General Hospital Unit; Task Force No 1: Home Defense; 3rd Rockford Infantry Regiment; 15th Aero Squadron; 171st Armored Field Artillery Battalion; 6th Marine Aircraft Wing/5th Marine Aircraft Group/1st Marine Air Division/1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade/9th Armored Cavalry Regiment/160th Bombardment Wing/165th Infantry Division Combat Team; etc.; however only two citizens - Simeon Weisman and Irving Riggs - actually enlisted into service (Simeon Weisman serving with Company C 875ths Armored Artillery Battalion)
