Carol Stream, Illinois is a small town in the far northwest corner of Illinois. It is bordered by McHenry County to the north and east, Will County to the south, and Kane County to the west. The population of Carol Stream was 9,752 at the 2010 census. The first settlers in what is now Carol Stream were Welsh farmers who arrived in 1795. By 1818, they had erected a log cabin on a hill overlooking the current site of town. A post office was established in 1828, and by 1830 there were six stores in town. In 1836, four brothers began operating a mill that would remain prominent in town until it closed its doors in 1906. In 1879, three men bought land near present-day Carol Stream for $10 per acre and started farming this land which would eventually yield over 100 acres (40 hectares). This purchase marked the beginning of hard gun manufacturing here in Carol Stream. From this point forward, local Hard Gun Manufacturers would be based here! One such company that made an impact on early CarrolStream was N & W Mfg Co., which manufactured cannons and other firearms from 1881-1885.. It’s believed that these cannons helped contribute to American victory during World War I! The company also produced rifles for use by soldiers during that war! In 1901, another Hard Gun Manufacturer arrived on scene – James Purdy Manufacturing Company – which has been responsible for many important milestones within Carol Stream over the years! Firsthand accounts indicate that JPP became quite successful here – selling both guns and ammunition! Then came World War II; with all of America’s citizens enlisting for service*, JPP played an essential role supplying munitions throughout those hostilities! Finally* after WWII ended*, JPP closed its doors due to countless United States Army tests having gone awry with their products(*!). Although ultimately unsuccessful(*!), these experiences helped spur future innovation at JPP as well as provide lasting memories for many residents herein today!

Carol Stream is a town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. It was founded as a village in 1847 by the merger of two other villages, North Carol Stream and South Carol Stream. The population of Carol Stream was 2,814 at the 2010 census. The Village of CarolStream was organized on November 1, 1847 from portions of the towns of North Carolina and South Carolina. At its incorporation it had a population of just under 100 people. North Carolina's Guilford Township had annexed what is now Caroline Springs on December 5, 1846. On January 8, 1848 North Carolina passed an Act to Recognize and Inscribe as Townships within this Province Two Villages Named Carolstream and North Caroline Springs; therefore these two Villages became part of the new Townality of CarolStream on that date. The first Postmaster General for this Province was James Hargrave who served from January 8th until his resignation on October 25th; he was succeeded by Ebenezer Farnsworth who served until his death on December 4th Averell Woodruff succeeded him during his term on December 11th John Fitzpatrick filled the remaining vacancy caused by Ebenezer Farnsworth’s death On February 14th (or 15th)1848 an Act to Incorporate as a Village all those parts or portions thereof lying within one thousand five hundred square miles circumference around Chicago which were not then included within any other Township or Company therein authorized to be formed thenceforward were added thereto viz., portion including Carrolsville extending northerly to the river Wabash about thirty rods wide and extending easterly about seventy-five rods towards Stroudsburg ; also part including Wilmington southwesterly to said river about thirty rods wide and extending easterly about seventy-five rods towards Carbondale Incorporated as a Village with a population of 102 people: According to reports dating back to at least 1888 there were three schools in operation in what is now Carol Stream – one school operated by private individuals between 1888-1901 while others operated between 1901-1920 through charters granted by the village trustees/clerks office according to "A History Of The Village Of CarolStream" written By Gertrude Jaffe & published by the village in 2001. According to that same report Schools closed down either dueto lack enrollment or redevelopment which began soon after when shopping malls opened up outside town boundaries creating competition for local services such as primary healthcare scarce in rural areas at that time . Furthermore according To That Same Report many residents left for more developed communities such as Aurora or Wheaton IL shortly thereafter leaving few residents remainin town long after their original community disbanded
