Gun Parts History in Carol Stream, Illinois Carol Stream is a town located in Will County, Illinois, United States. The population was 9,853 at the 2010 census. It lies on the east side of the Chicago River and is bordered by Mundelein to the south, Park Ridge to the northwest, Harvey to the north, and Cicero to the east. The town began as a small settlement called Keeneyville on May 25, 1847. On November 3rd of that year John A. Butler purchased 2 acres of land from George Denny for $150. Butler built a cabin on this site and named it "Carol Stream". By 1860 there were fifteen houses in Carol Stream with an population of around seventy-five people. The first post office was established in 1861 with Wm Hogg as Postmaster. In 1865 Major General Philip Sheridan's army invaded Illinois during the American Civil War and skirmished near Carol Stream while moving through Cook county towards Joliet. Many residents decided to stay behind and keep their homes throughout the fighting which left many structures remaining after the war ended including one house still standing today known as "The Sheridan House". In 1876 Charles Whitman shoot three students at University of California at Berkeley campus with his rifle using a precursor to modern day automatic firearms such as shotguns or pistols; these rifles were sometimes called "butterfly guns" because they had no sights other than graduated acorns (bullets) that could be fired by means of pull-back triggers without taking your hand off your firearm The use and popularity of handguns increased throughout America starting about 1903 when new mechanical arms replaced muzzle loading muskets

" Carol Stream" was named after Englishwoman Caroline Smith who settled there in 1828 with her husband John Fenton. She was a member of the First Congregational Church and helped found nearby Romeoville. The stream that runs through town was given its name from Mrs. Foote's purchase of land along it in 1868 for $2 per acre (the price at which property could be bought by those without title to any real estate). In honor of Mrs. Foote's donation, a public school was built on what is now Main Street in 1870 and renamed "Mrs. Foote School." In 1906, heavy industry began to take root around Carol Stream with the opening of Wabash Paper Company on South Main Street; this led to increased development throughout town and eventually led to the name change for Carol Stream Manufacturing Company Incorporated to Wabash Paper Corporation (later Wabash Paper Products) in 1968 when that company became one of America's leading paper companies. After years as a small town relegated to rural life, increasing numbers of residents moved into town during the late 1990s and 2000s as suburban communities developed further away from downtown Chicagoans looking for affordable housing stock near their workplaces or shopping malls.
