Canton is a small village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 714 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The Village of Canton was incorporated on October 15, 1847. The history of Canton goes back to 1847 when it was founded as a post office by John Fenton and others in what is now the eastern edge of the village. The first settler in Canton was David Hartsfield, who arrived in 1848 from Maine. In 1850, Elijah Hicks purchased land east of present-day Canton and began building a house which still stands today on First Street within the boundaries of the current village. Hicks functioned as both mayor and justice of the peace for much of his time in town; he also built two churches, one dedicated to St. Joseph (now Holy Cross) and another to Stowe Methodist Episcopal Church (now Evangelical Lutheran). Hicks’ home became an important stop for travelers along the Erie Canal because it offered passage upriver without having to leave town or take public transportation. In 1853, William Auld opened a store at what is now First Avenue and Main Street within canton limits; this early business venture helped generate some growth within town over time - although mercantile activity largely stopped thereafter due to competition from large stores opening up around that time throughout Cook County. The Post Office Building on East Main Street served as various offices until 1967 when it burned down; replacement buildings were completed shortly afterwards with similar architecture but different windowsills so that mail could be delivered electronically instead of hand delivery being necessary before scanning through pages for stamps! As mentioned earlier, Canton's beginnings can be traced back to1847 when Reverend John Fenton established himself here as postmaster with others settlers journeying westward during the 1840s looking for new homesteading opportunities following increased travel statewide thanks to railroads developing in that decade - even though mail service between towns wasn't available yet! However,...the first structure erected here by Fenton & Co., Inc., Oct.-15 '47-'50" marks an important milestone not only historically speaking but also architecturally...the Clovelly House situated ½ mile east [of where] this building stands today upon Captn Wm Hartsfield's farmstead newly built Apr.–Oct.'48." ThisClovelly House later became known simply as "Fenton's". In addition thereto several other residences were erected prior to 1850 including: 2nd Ave./Main street,. . . Nov.–Dec.; 5th Ave./East Main street Feb.–Mar.; Coxe/Old Hickory road side Mar.–Apr.; 2nd Av./First St Dec.–Jan.—this last being possibly built by Rev Elisha Coxe after Purchase from Capt Wm Harton RR Sept.-Nov.'49."

Targets Unlimited also produced Grenade Launcher Targets which were similar in shape but could not be fired from a handgun because theycontained live rounds instead of BBs or pellets (see Figure 2). It should be noted that these devices were not as popular as their predecessor due to two main reasons: firstly, because shotguns are not commonly used for firing projectiles from close range; secondly because grenade launchers are more common household weapons than shotguns in most cases. Nevertheless, Targets Unlimited continued production until about 1988 when all operations ceased due to financial problems (see Figures 3-5).
When the first target holders were developed, they were designed to hold targets at a variety of distances. Today, target holders are used to hold targets at various ranges, including close-quarters, short-range and long-range.
