This new design allowed handguns to be fired without having their barrels choked off (fig 2). Unfortunately, this new choke also had several limitations. For example, it required careful placement of both pieces of metal so that they contacted each other securely enough to prevent them from interfering with fire control or accidentally causing gunfire (fig 3). Additionally, it was not possible to adjust its shape or size so that it would fit any particular handgun (fig 4). However, these limitations were eventually overcome by Colonel Goodwin’s successors and his original design remains one of the most populargun chokes today (fig 5).

Canton officially became home to Illini football players starting in 1912 when Eddie Cameron came to play for the team from nearby Crystal Lake (now Elmhurst). In 1932 Gene Upshaw led Illini to their first ever undefeated season and then went on to become head coach at Northwestern University before returning to coaching at Canton High School where he coached from 1938 until his death in 1983; he remains one of only 8 people ever to be inducted into both college and high school coaching hallowed halls of fame! In 1978-79 Tom Osborne starred forIllini hoops as part of an undefeated Big Ten Conference regular season campaign that also saw him earn MVP honors after averaging 27 points per game en route to winning the Big Ten Tournament title game against Michigan State - something that still stands as one of history’s most impressive individual accomplishments!
