That same year, the city installed new electric locks with 5/8 inch tolerances on all city gates and entrances. In 1933, Mayor J.B. Simmons called for the installation of permanent electric locks on all public buildings in Calumet City as part of his anti-vandalism campaign slogan "Keep Your Business Clean." The mayor also proposed that each business owner be given a key to their business' locked entrance. In 1934, Mayor Simmons passed Resolution No. 10 which provided for automatic locked gate operation at night when streets were closed due to weather or other emergencies; this system still exists today! City Manager Wm Sievers recommended that the entire system be replaced with electronic locking devices in 1948 after experiencing thefts from unlocked businesses in downtownCalumet Cityalfeathers – one such incident resulting in $5,000 being stolen from two businesses within three weeks! The recommendation resulted in installation of electronic locking devices throughout central Calumet City!
Calumet City is a small town in southwestern Illinois that straddles the border of Indiana and Michigan. The population was 7,883 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. This district also contains several high-end hotels such as Hyatt Regency Lakeview & McCormick Place and Hilton Garden Inn &Hyatt Regency Riverwalk Plaza. Other key attractions within CBD include Ford Museum (a world-famous museum), Millennium Park - home to the Art Institute Of America and other major cultural attractions - as well as several smaller businesses like Sears Tower (formerly Sears Holding Company) which offers an excellent view from its observation deck over Downtown Chicago skyline before continuing east on Harrison Street towards Wrigley Field).
