Cahokia is a town in Randolph County, Illinois, United States. Cahokia was founded by the Mound Builders in the late 18th century. The town was firstnamed "Clara" and then "Hiawatha". It became known as Cahokia after the Hiawatha legend of Kawikahe and his people's journey from their home on the Missouri River to find new land. The name Cahokia means "Great Place." The first European settlers in Cahokia were Frenchmen who arrived in 1795. They built a small fort at the confluence of the rivers Pekin and Kankakee to protect their interests in what had been discovered by France. In 1812, General James Wilkinson led an American army against Napoleon Bonaparte during the Napoleonic Wars and discovered Cahokia while exploring for land east of Springfield, Illinois. Wilkinson named the post office for his army's victory atPutnamtown Creek: Cahokian Station. In 1813, Wilkinson granted a right-of-way through Cahokian Township to Anna Wabash Railroad Co., which established a rail line between Chicago and St Louis. In 1814, when Anthony Wayne invaded Indiana Territory following his victory over French forces at Blackfordville, he took refuge with Chief Pontiac near Cahokian Park on Lake Michigan shoreline. After Wayne's defeat at Fort Dearborn on November 15, 1815 (the Battle of Fort Dearborn), Pontiac surrendered himself to Ulysses S. Grant on December 13, 1815 without battle or engagement; however, all leaders associated with him were put into prison until May 6th of that year when they were released under escort by USS Constitution flagship Constitution Bayou about 30 miles due west of Cairo Landing on Lake Michigan At this time there was much speculation as to why Grant would release them so soon after such an event but no definitive evidence has surfaced since then suggesting that he did anything other than simply follow Ulysses S.' orders not fight or surrender Aftermath of War: There exists little documentation remaining from this period aside from hearsay accounts which suggest that many buildings including those located within now known as Downtown Rahway were destroyed during these events as well as other infrastructure such as water systems being abandoned entirely making it difficult if not impossible today to verify any claims made about these events particularly since most documents dating back prior to 1800 have already been lost or destroyed Cahokian Park Today: While much has changed since Anthony Wayne's time - especially with respect to Downtown Rahway - much remains unchanged within City limits including what is now called "Downtown Rahway" specifically identifiable by its large pre-war statue of Kawikahe overlooking South Street beginning just south of East Ferry Road across from City Hall

This method was eventually replaced by Weaver sights which use mirrors instead of lenses. During World War 2, some soldiers decided that they needed more firepower than just pistols and rifles could provide, so they developed machineguns which fired large rounds outfitted with big barrels! Many people believe that these weapons were actually invented by Germans as part of their effort to build an advanced military weapon like no other! Gunlights started becoming popular among military personnel after World War 2 ended, but they still weren’t common enough for civilians until quite awhile later! Today, there are many different typesof gun lights available on the market, each designed for its own specific purpose.
