This machine gun was called the Gatling Gun and it was designed by George Stephenson for use in the American Civil War. The first permanent settler in what is now Burbank was John Murry who arrived on March 3, 1847. He named his tract of land for his friend and business partner William Hinkle. On November 10, 1851, Samuel Winchester purchased 1/4 mile (0.8 km) east of present-day Burbank from John Murry for $100 cash and moved to what is now Winchester Park Avenue where he built a sawmill and gristmill which he operated until 1859 when he sold them to Edward Fenton who renamed them The Fenton Mills. In 1865 Isaac Chappell bought 1/4 mile (0.8 km) west of present-day Burbank from Edward Fenton for $50 cash and erected a gristmill there which he ran until 1888 When it was taken over by the Wabash Railroad Company as their depot yards were located just south of today's intersection of Halsted Street and Milwaukee Avenue

As new handguns started being developed using cartridge sizes larger than .25ACP – .32ACP – .380ACP – .45ACP – 9mm Luger – 10mm Luger – etc., gun barrel manufacturing companies turned their attention towards making larger caliber barrels specifically for those rounds (H&R Block 1903 rifle barrel). These enlarged barrels would then become known as “monster” calibers because they possessed enough kickback power Additionally, multiple layers OF hard coatings were applied on both sides of newly manufactured barrel walls in an effort increase stability under extreme 1934 weather conditions called “bronze deposition” The result was increased accuracy when firing projectiles through difficult breechblocks
The first guns were made with barrels that were about 20 inches long. The next steps in gun barrel history happened when cannons started being built that could shoot up to 50 or 60 rounds per minute. So, the length of a gun barrel increased from about 20 inches to around 64 inches.
Burbank, Illinois is a small town located in the southern part of Cook County, Illinois. The population was 9,451 at the 2010 census. It is one of two villages in Burbank Township and one of four townships in Chicago County. The first Europeans to visit Burbank were French fur traders in the early 17th century. In 1812, John Stephenson built a cabin on a hill overlooking the village and named it after himself, but development did not begin until after he died in 1836. The first store opened in 1839. The Village of Burbank was incorporated as a village on November 15, 1907 by an act of the state legislature; it had been organized as a township on March 14th that year by an act of the same legislature. At its incorporation, Burbank had a total land area of 3 square miles (8 km²). The original city Limits were 2 square miles (5 km²) east of where Interstate 80 now ends and 2 square miles (5 km²) west of where State Route 64 now ends. After annexation by Chicago in 1955, these limits were expanded to 4square miles (10 km²). “Burbank: A Pioneer Village” by Edward J. Larkin published by The History Press Incorporated in 1968 tells about how much progress has been made since 1907 when Burbank was founded as just another township with limited boundaries
