Bridgeview, Illinois is a small town located in the northwest corner of Cook County, Illinois. The population was 12,705 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Bridgeview is one of two towns that make up the village of Lombard and are both served by Lombard Community Schools. The first Holster company in Bridgeview was called "The Holster Company" and was founded by John Davenport in 1875. The company produced holsters for military use and also marketed their product to law enforcement personnel. In 1916, The Holster Company merged with another holster company, Jemsco & Sons, which had been founded by James Bledsoe in 1915. This merger gave rise to the current name of JemscoHolsters LLC which produces holsters for civilian use as well as military use under three different brands: ColtPistol®, Glock® handgun®, Sig Sauer® pistols. In 1969, JemscoHolsters became a subsidiary of Colt Firearms Corporation and continued producing handguns under that name until 1986 when it changed its corporate name to Colt Tactical Solutions Incorporated (CTSI). CTSI manufactures 1911 pistols and revolvers under three different brand names: Kimber® 1911 handguns; Ruger™ revolvers; Smith&Wesson ® 9mm handguns; Springfield Armory firearms including Model X rifle & shotgun products line . In 1995, CTSI merged with American-Made Arms Corporation (AMI) to form American-manufactured Handguns Corporation (AHCO). AHCO continues to produce handguns under three different brand names: ColtPistol®, Glock®, Sig Sauer® pistols

Bridgeview is located on the north side of Chicago, between the city's Ridgway neighborhood to the east and Humboldt Park to the west. It is bordered by Mount Prospect to the south, Downey Park to the north, and Bronzeville to the east. Bridgeview was founded in 1854 as a log cabin community named for Reverend James A. Bridge over Lake Michigan. The first settler was David Klinehalter. When Chicago annexed southern Cook County in 1871, Bridgeview became part of what was then called "the South Side." The post office opened in 1878 and remained open until it closed in 1951. From 1902-1927 Bridgeview had its own school board which also operated Medicaid clinics until that program was merged into Chicago's public healthcare system. The first settlement in what is now Bridgeview was made up of men from nearby towns includingGary andBeloit who built a wagon road from there to Western Chicago because they wanted to avoid using Indian Territory (now Iowa) as their route through the Midwest. On November 3, 1871, this group formed the nucleus of what would become BridgeVIEW Inc., which later became part of the City of Chicago area when it was annexed into that city on February 14, 1893. By 1912, bridgeVIEW had become an incorporated town under the name of “BridgeVIEW” due to its incorporation into Cook County on January 15th that year along with other towns within Cook County such as Glencoe (later Hoffman Estates), Deerfield (later Aurora), Niles (later Naperville), Romeoville (later Wheaton) and more! This rich history can be seen today through various streets and landmarks throughout town such as McHenry Boulevard which runs parallel to Lake Michigan; Asbury Avenue which parallels Milwaukee Avenue; Ridge Road which leads directly out into Lake Michigan just before it meets I-95 near Westchester; and much more!

It is also one of the most ethnically diverse cities in Illinois. The city was founded on October 4, 1871 by George H. Waukesha and others as West Point Township No. 2 east of Chicago. On November 5, 1871, the township was renamed to Bridgeview after Rear Admiral Isaac Davenport Patebridge who had been nominated for president by Abraham Lincoln with recommendations from General James Kapp and Mayor John Cullerton. In 1872, BridgeVIEW COOPERATIVE FEDERAL LAND GRANT NO 8055 was issued to George H Waukesha & associates for $10K The first white children were born in BridgeVIEW on October 4th 1872 when George H and his wife Anna gave birth to their only child named Rollin Waughs-Higgins On November 5th 1872, West Point Township became BridgeVIEW when it merged into Kane County In 1893 there were 11 schools within the City limits: 9 public schools & 3 private schools (the Koster School closed in 1896) BridgeVIEW’S FIRST INDUSTRIAL PARK was established on North Main Street near present day Elmwood Avenue on December 6th 1893 by friends of Mayor Cullerton
