Bridgeview is a city located in the Champaign-Urbana metropolitan area, in northern Illinois. The population was 99,581 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago–Naperville– Joliet Combined Statistical Area. Bridgeview was founded on April 1, 1871, by George Washington Tilton and his wife Lydia. The original town site included what is now the downtown section of Bridgeview and parts of today's south side. The first bridge over the Fox River was built in Bridgeview in 1879 as part of a transportation project led by then-Governor John P. Quinn. The first interurban train service arrived at Bridgeview Station on October 25, 1881. At that time, it was one of three stations served by the Peoria Railway Company (now Metra). On January 1, 1903, Bridge View became an incorporated village under the jurisdiction of Urbana Township; it had been a unincorporated community since its founding date. On December 26, 1907, it received township status again and became known as "Bridge View Township." In 1912–13, village officials began to develop plans for what would become Watzek Park—an extensive public park that would include a large lake and several playgrounds and tennis courts; however these plans were never realized due to funding shortages during World War I. In 1937–38, work began on developing what would become Midway Airport—the second largest airport serving Champaign-Urbana after Chicago's O'Hare Airport; this project resulted in the construction of two runways and an auxiliary runway north of Midway Boulevard South near Route 59/Ulysses S Grant Road. The first phase of development involved building a hangar for local planes for use by charter airlines; later phases added passenger terminals and other buildings necessary for commercial operations including administrative offices and retail stores east off Interstate 294 between Midway Boulevard South and Interstate 70/I-70 East (later State Street). In 1975–76, followingMidway Airport's designation as a United States Air Force Base Reserve Base under Title 10 U .S .C . 8332 (USAF BRB), all civilian traffic ceased from Midway Airport except for occasional military flights operated as partSSTV from nearby Kane County Regional Airport which continued until 1990 when those flights were transferred to Seton Hall University's Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum when that airport closed down entirely because he no longer resided there

Bridgeview is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 5,662 at the 2010 census. Bridgeview is located on the Fox River and is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. It is one of two communities in Cook County that are considered to be "border towns". The other community is Calumet City. Bridgeview was founded in 1857 by John Ladd and his brother James as a landing place for goods being transported overland from the Illinois Central Railroad to Chicago. In 1869, Jane Addams purchased land adjacent to what is now Bridgeview from George Pullman for $1,000. She donated it to the village for use as a public school district. Because of this donation and subsequent growth of Bridgeview, Pullman decided to move his company's headquarters from Chicago to Bridgeview in order to keep up with the village's development. In 1903, voters passed a resolution establishing a park in honor of Admiral Edwin Booth and others who had fought in World War I. The park became known as Memorial Park after its dedication ceremonies were held there on October 25th that year by President Theodore Roosevelt. Since then, it has been home to many different types of events includingThe Harry S Truman Presidential Library and Museum which opened its doors in 1995;the Anthony Bourdain travel show "Parts Unknown" filmed nears Bridgeview on several occasions;and numerous other celebrities have made visits such as Britney Spears (who performed at an event at the library), LeBron James (who visited during halftime of their game against Miami Heat on December 8th), Barack Obama (whose speech originated from Memorial Park), Tom Hanks (who shot some scenes for "Gone Girl"), Ellen Page (of "X-Men: Days Of Future Past"), Justin Timberlake (during his VMAs performance) among others. Most recently, it was announced that Microsoft will establish its new corporate headquarters within walking distance of Memorial Park once construction allows - making it likely that more companies will move into or make their presence known within this growing community through future events/ openings!
Bridgeview was originally a small village in Macon County, Illinois, United States. It was founded in 1849 by members of the Methodist church. The first Post Office at Bridgeview was established in 1850. The village grew rapidly due to its location near the new Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. In 1875, Bridgeview became part of the newly created City of Chicago. With its growing population, Bridgeview began to build a larger than average town hall and civic center. The building Still stands today as one of the most iconic symbols of downtown Chicago. In 1986, Bridgeview merged with the neighboring city of Hinsdale to form the current city of Chicago Heights.
