There are many types and styles of gun sights, but the three most common are red dot sights (dot sight devices that use target images to provide aiming information), centerfire sights, and iron sights. Red Dot Sight: A red dot sight is a type of sighting device featuring a small light mounted on the front of the weapon that allows users to see what target they are shooting at without having to look down. The red dot sight is usually used with rifles and shotguns. Red dots come in two different types: “T” or Tri-Rail designs which have two rails that rotate, allowing for elevation and windage adjustments; and “Q” or QuickDetachable designs which allow for quick changes in elevation or windage without taking off the barrel. Centerfire Sight: A centerfire sight is a type of sighting device designed for rifles and shotguns that features a sleek, round housing with an aperture at one end typically located near the breechface. When aimed at your desired target, you place your finger over the aperture and press down onto the stock while keeping your other hand ready to pull back on the rifle if needed. Centersights can be found as basic models with just an open aperture or they can include features such as adjustable turrets, optics, magnification, sun shields, flip-up/down Models (optional) and illuminated reticles. Iron Sights: Iron sights work by attaching directly to your barrel via screws or washers so you don’t have to remove it when changing aim points. They come in both standard configurations (a T rail mount with an objective lens at one end) and illuminated configuration (using LEDs). Illuminated iron sights allow you to see what projection pattern your shot will create from across the room while still being able to track where your firearm is hitting its target using a crosshair system installed on top).

In 1879, the first pistol sights were designed in Bridgeview by Major James G. Brown and Adolphus C. Weitzel. Bridgeview is a city in McLean County, Illinois, United States. The population was 13,422 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Bridgeview was founded in 1871 by John A. Daley and his brother Edward Daley. The first post office in Bridgeview opened in 1872. In 1924, Bridgeview became a charter member of the International League of Settlement towns. Bridgeview's downtown contains many historic buildings dating back to when it was a Township seat and before that it was part of West Dundee Township (now Arlington Heights). One such building is the former Burr-McGraw mill complex which stands on the east side of town off I-on Highway 1A just south of Route 12W and north of Hwy 422E The mill complex has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1978 as one of America's "Big Five" industrial sites: The Du Pont company merged with McGraw-Hill in 1968 to create a conglomerate that included several plants in Illinois; four mills closed during the 1970s due to competition from cheaper foreign products; but two survived until 2003 when they were all acquired by Dow Chemical Co.; and finally, Memorial Drive Mill closed down around 2006 after 32 years operations because its production capacity had been surpassed by other producers nearby. Bridges over I-on and Hwy 422E separate Bridgeview from Arlington Heights on one side while Winnetka Avenue separates Bridgeview from Glen Ellyn on the other side The local media often refers to BridgeVIEW as simply "BridgeVIEW".

The community has been named for John Bridge (1792-1875), an early settler and politician who served as a delegate to the Illinois General Assembly from McHenry County in 1854 and 1855. Bridgeview was platted on November 12, 1840 by Ebenezer Rogers and John A. Weaver. It became a village on December 22, 1850, when it had a population of 100 people. On February 15, 1871, Bridgeview incorporated as a city under the name of "Chicago". On March 30th of that year Bridgeview changed its name to "BridgeVIEW" effective date which still stands today as the unofficial motto of the community BridgeVIEW annexed portions of neighboring townships on April 1st 1895 including: Burr Ridge to the south; Hinsdale to the east; Glencoe to the north; and Park Forest to the west On November 3rd 1903 Mayor James Laughlin announced that all residents were required to carry firewood into their homes during severe weather conditions due to an outbreak of Mad River Fever caused by storm surges along Lake Michigan The first grocery store opened in BridgeVIEW in 1906 with Grocery Outlet Incorporated being founded by George Wirtz & his wife Ida Mavis Kappler In 1971 - 1973 BridgeVIEW experienced some difficult times due mainly to low tax rates set by then Mayor Edward Byrne however things started changing when new City Manager Dick Daley took office and within months Project STARS was initiated which targeted increasing use and recycling among other initiatives leading eventuallyto increased property values within our Community . With help from Mayor Daley's successor Richard J. McCormack things have stabilized since then with continued growth potential thanks in part to efforts such as ArtPrize which brings awareness & funds into our community
