The Bridgeview Shooting Club was founded in 1892. The club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.D. Briggs, located on west 95th Street in Bridgeview, Illinois. That same year, the club took its first steps with a shotgun competition held at the Local Republican Clubhouse on Higgins Avenue in Chicago. In 1893, the club organized its first rifle competition which was won by John Hixon of Belmont Township (now Rockford). In 1896, the club organized its second rifle competition and this time it placed third behind only Stonington Rifle Club and West Side RifleClub from Chicago. In 1898, the club organized its third rifle competition which was won by George Coyle of Lombard Township (now Peoria). In 1900-1901, the club organized its fourth rifle Competition which was won by Harry Wessels of Cicero Township (now Decatur). In 1902-1903,thecluborganizedits fifthcompetitionwhichwaswonbyFrankFosterofLisle township(now Rockford).
Bridgeview is a small town in Cook County, Illinois. The population was 5,993 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Bridgeview is located on the north side of the city, bordered by Park Ridge to the east and west, Westmont to the south andnorth, and Winnetka to the northwest. Bridgeview was laid out in 1857 by Jared Weldon and John Davenport as a farmstead on what is now Willard Road. The first post office in Bridgeview was established in 1859, and it remained so until it closed on July 1, 1912. In 1909-10, David Ayer donated land for a public library which became an important factor in its growth. In 1924-25, he donated another piece of land for a school which became one of two high schools in Bridgeview. The original school building burned down in 1957 but was replaced with a new structure that still stands today. The community has experienced many changes over its history including rapid growth during World War II when thousands of soldiers came through BridgeVIEW to fight; decline during the 1970s as factories closed down; resurgence during 2000s as more people moved into BridgeVIEW; and current stability due to strong job opportunities and growing population size

Bridgeview is a small town in the eastern portion of Illinois, United States. The community was post office operated by Bridgeview Township from 1877 to 1968. The township was organized on March 1, 1877, and the town was chartered on October 15, 1879. The population of Bridgeview reached 3,811 in 2000. The first settler in what is now Bridgeview were two brothers who platted the area around what is now the University Park Shopping Center on May 25, 1875. William and Jesse Bridgwater were the pioneers and named their tract “BridgeVIEW” after their home village near Sheffield England which they had just arrived in America. It should be noted that there are several bridges located within walking distance of either University Park or Bridgeview Village which date back to at least 1907 when a local cable car company built a bridge over I-680 between these towns and Urbana . This early infrastructure made it possible for people to commute easily to different parts of the city without having to leave their homes or communities. In 1901, an Italian family moved into the neighborhood known as Villa Fiora (later renamed Villa America). They started a grocery store called Girotti's Grocery & Meat Market which quickly became one of the largest businesses in Bridgeview. In 1916, Jens Jensen founded Jensen's Lumber Company with his brother Ole; this company manufactured cedar plank fence posts and other lumber products throughout Illinois until it merged into International Harvester Corporation in 1984. The railroad crossing at County Road 12/24 still stands today as one of many reminders of how important transportation was during those early days in BridgeView history! It wasn't until 1920 that headlights finally allowed cars driving down Main Street through townspeople' yards to see what was happening up ahead! At first people used lanterns while traveling because they couldn't afford lights at that time! Eventually gaslights came online making life much easier for everyone involved! Unfortunately due to heavy usage by motorists and some new development along Highway 6/I-680 bridge replacement projects began shortly thereafter; this caused significant traffic congestion on Main Street throughout much of the late 1920s and 1930s which disrupted daily life for many residents who could no longer get out onto their streets or sidewalks for shopping or work purposes
In 1871, the first section of the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad was completed from Wicker Park to Bridgeview. The town of Bridgeview was platted in 1872 and named for Captain George B. Bridge, a local landowner and founder of the Chicago & Northwestern Railway. By 1881, Bridgeview had a population of about 120 people and was part of the now-defunct Township 7 east of downtown Chicago. In 1886, the railroad donated land to create what is now North Side Park in Bridgeview. The donation included an 8-acre (3 ha) lot that served asTrain Station Drive today. Bridgeview experienced growth during World War II when it became home to several military housing estates. After the war ended, bridge builders continued to arrive in droves and built new bridges throughout northwest Illinois including one over the Mississippi River at Lockport that opened in 1951.
