Bradley is a small town in the Illinois Distrito Federal area. The population was 1,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first Bradley was founded in 1836 and it was called "Blooming Grove". In 1847, it became known as "Bradley" after General James Bradley who helped found the village. The current name comes from General George Bradley who fought in World War II and later served as U.S. Ambassador to China and Vietnam. The Village of Bradley was incorporated on December 6, 1934 and has been governed by a five-member committee ever since. On January 1, 2009, village trustees reorganized into an executive board with single members elected at-large for two years instead of one year terms like other villages in Cook County. This change allows for more efficient governance because there is only one individual with oversight over all village activities during that time frame - the mayor or vice president - which eliminates any possibility of conflict or bias among individuals who are not elected to office themselves

Bradley is a small town in the far southwestern corner of Illinois, just east of the Missouri River. The population was 7,811 at the 2010 census. Bradley has an agricultural economy and is known for its wine production. The town was named after Colonel John Bradley (1787-1847), a hero of the Mexican-American War who served as a military governor of Texas and then Illinois. The first permanent settler in Bradley was James Horney, who arrived in 1829. The town developed slowly until 1850, when it became a village with a post office and five buildings. In 1853, two years after Illinois became a state, Bradley had 1 blacksmith and 3 farmers living in it. In 1860, when Abraham Lincoln was elected president of the United States and announced his plan to end slavery in America, there were few African Americans living in America other than slaves from Africa or their descendants freeborn citizens. Many residents of rural areas near Chicago were supportive of Lincoln because he promised gradual emancipation for those slaves who wished to remain free; however, many people also objected toincoln’s election because he did not have strong personal support among white voters in Illinois. On November 4, 1860 – one day before Lincoln announced his Emancipation Proclamation – Confederate General Robert Ewing attacked Fort Donelson on Tennessee’s Cumberland Plateau while Union forces were fighting at Civil War's Battle Of Gettysburg nearby. With little hope that either side could achieve victory over their adversary without taking deadly casualties (the Union army had only about 507 men available to engage Confederate forces numbering approximately 25,000), General Ulysses S Grant ordered his main body—more than 10 times greater than that manning Fort Donelson–to cross the river opposite Fort Donelson and attack from both sides simultaneously from three directions: upriver on Banks Peninsula towards Clarksville Landing on the Mississippian River; downriver towards Chattanooga across Lookout Valley to reach Chattanooga Pike on the border between Georgia and Tennessee; southeast along Lookout Mountain into Knox County where General Nathan Bedford Forrest led an invasion force composed mostly of Cherokee warriors against Major General William Tilton Johnson’sblue infantry brigade defending East Ridge within striking range of Sherman’s Atlanta Campaign Army under George Crook—a strategic move designed to block Johnson’s retreat back over Hood River Canyon Bridge upstream towards Nashville? If successful it would have successfully blocked Confederate reinforcements coming back from Memphis via Mobile Bay for Pickett’s Divisional Army operating behind Johnston’s army northward across Alabama Territory? Unfortunately for Grant et al., Roebuck's cavalry suddenly galloped forward undetected onto Banks Peninsula cutting off both wings rearward from Corinthvilles battlefield supply depot where they were vulnerable to enfilading fire from Grants artillerymen positioned atop Lookout Hill overlooking Clarksville Landing until relieved by battery batteries brought up rapidly downstream by boats transported overLookout Creekbridge spanning Chattahoochee River belowFort Donelson prior to landing ashore! Consequently only 8 out 20 cannons aboard USS “Alabama” managed to fire any shots during this abortive assault which resulted in severe damage done both ships & shore batteries! Although repulsed by numbers & firepower Confederate troops quickly retired east across Shoals Passage southwesterly reaching Mobile Bay whence they eventually surrendered under terms negotiated by Ulysses S Grant leading ultimately Toombs' Georgia Brigade! A week later following skirmishes around Kingstontown involving 500+ local militiamen Joshua Liddell Smith's Florida militia regiment joined forces with Crook's column crossing Chickamauga Creek northeast past Newnan downriver into Tensaw National Forest reaching Chattanooga late evening September 14th 1865 after days march including night marches through rugged country complete with all perils!!!
Bradley was founded in 1871 by Alfred Bradley, a Methodist minister. The town grew quickly, and by 1887 it had a population of 1,500. In 1914, the town became a city.
