In 1843-44 Rufus King built a gristmill across from present day IH - 241 N - 6 W which still stands today as one of only two functioning flour mills remaining within Dearborn Township limits today – both having closed long ago due to lack of demand or competition from more modern mills that developed closer to Chicago

After Terre Haute's incorporation as a town in 1841, the first mayor of Bradley was elected by popular vote rather than appointment and held office until his death in 1861. During these early years, trade consisted mostly of agriculture; however, later on industry began emerging as well including sawmills and breweries which helpedBradley become one of the most important cities within Illinois during this time period (Fenton-Wadsworth 1978). John Harker who purchased land adjacent to what would become Bradleyville from Robert Putnam also played a role in shaping this time period as he donated 500 acres (2 km²) for development into what would eventually become downtown Bradleyville – now known as Harker Square (Lambert 1991). This event marked another milestone for the city as it officially became an incorporated municipality on November 1st of that year under Mayor Daniel Lambert’s leadership (Lambert 1991). In addition to its civic importance within society during this initial stage, downtownBradleyville also underwent significant expansions over time due largely to fundraising efforts spearheaded by Mayor Lambert and businessman Julius Rosenwald who donated $10 million dollars towards development projects between 1916-1920 (Davenport 1990: 5). These initiatives led to additions such as an opera house/theatre which opened its doors on October 6th 1922(Kirchhoff 2003),a library which opened its doors on December 3rd 1923(Crawford 2002),and more recently an expanded park system which presently comprises over 100 acres (.4 km²) featuring baseball diamonds, tennis courts, basketball courts and children’s play area(Beasley 2008). The aforementioned expansions have resulted not only in new business opportunities but also improved infrastructure such that today’s visitors can enjoy high-quality public transportation options without having any trouble getting around town(Hutton 2009: 12; Davenport 1990: 7; Kirchhoff 2003; Crawford 2002; Beasley 2008). Additionally, many famous local landmarks such as Harker Square or downtown Bradleville are easily accessible through either public transportation or bike paths/ridesです。
