Bolingbrook, Illinois is a town of 38,000 residents located in the northwest corner of Cook County, Illinois. It was founded in 1847 by George Stephen Boling and named for him. The first settlers were farmers who grew corn and wheat. The town became an important part of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. In 1865, Bolingbrooks saw its first real gunfire when Union soldiers fired on a local militia during the Battle of Belmont Bridge. With the end of the Civil War in 1865, two things changed in Bolingbrook: First, there was a boom in business as people came to find new opportunities; second, there was an increase in military activity as men looked for ways to support their families. The early 20th century was another busy time for Bolingbrook as businesses expanded and more people moved into the town. One such growth industry was arms manufacturing which led to many buildings being erected around this time including three shotguns factories (one still extant), five rifle stocks workshops (still extant), and six rifle Riflesmith shops (one now defunct). These businesses produced rifles for both law enforcement and general use all over North America. Another major industry during this time period was farming which helped contribute to Bolingbrooks population growth rate from 1,500 in 1920 to 27,000 by 1950. During World War II,bolingbrook saw some amazing changes as it transformed into a wartime production center that handled everything from grenades and rockets to tanks and jet airplanes. However, like most towns throughout Cook County after Pearl Harbor ended war production stopped abruptly due to budget cuts at American plants across the Midwest caused by Roosevelt’s New Deal policies designed essentially to bring about parity with Germany and Japan without actually doing anything about their national economies or industrial potential which had been building up throughout much of Europe since before World War I started (in fact some European countries were even ahead of us)). This sudden halt left bolingerocketers with no choice but either sell their equipment or wait out the war years until prices improved somewhat so they could re-enter war-time production once again - something that never happened because unlike other plants where workers simply turned over tools when hostilities ended so that continued production could continue unabated under different management structures thereafter - plant operations were effectively closed down forever while employees went on strike every few months or so during peacetime only to be reinstated soon afterwards amidst resumed Production despite continuing protests) In spite of these setbacks lie has persevered through difficult times including a move away from Riflestocks manufacture entirely toward Automation within1970s; multiple plant closures during economic recession; 9/11 attacks which destroyed entire factory complex; current effort underwayto reopen old Plant & Rebuild whole Manufacturing Division

Bolingbrook Rifle History began in 1892 when Bolingbrook gunsmiths Emmett J. Moody and John A. Wesson started making riflestocks for the local farmers and ranchers. In 1902, Moody & Wesson became a partnership and continued to produce quality rifles under their own name until 1934. From 1934-1939, the company was owned by Arthur I. Whitney who also founded Whitney's Gun Shops in nearby Chicago. Between 1939-1945, Bolingbrook was part of United States Army Ordnance Command (USAAFOC) located in Gurnee, Illinois which led to many improvements at the factory including new welding equipment and an extensive research program into sniper technology. In 1945, Whitney sold Bolingbrook to its current owners who continue to operate it today as a firearms manufacturer with a focus on traditional/handgun calibers such as revolvers and rifles
