Bolingbrook, Illinois is a small town located in the northwestern corner of Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, Bolingbrook had a population of 2,814. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area and is bordered by LaGrange to the north, Dolton to the east, Humboldt Park to the south and Englewood to the west. The community was originally called "Belmont" after General Nathaniel Belmont who fought in the War for Independence. The name "Bolingbrook" was first given to it by Captain John Bolingbrook who purchased land in 1786 from Colonel David Dixon. In 1837, Bolingbrook was renamed after Major-General Andrew Jackson because he became president that year. The community has been home to many famous people including: Abraham Lincoln, James Buchanan and Jay Cooke. On October 15th, 1879 Chauncey Billingsgate died at age 83 years old at his home in Bolingbrook after a long illness that began on September 28th. He was one of only five men ever buried in Greenwood Cemetery which lies just outside of Bolingbrook on Highway 24A near Joliette Avenue and North Avenue. Reverend Jesse Jackson also lived in Bolingbrook during his childhood and attended public schools here before moving on to attend Brown University where he earned an LLM degree in law enforcement administration in 1984. After leaving Brown University he worked as an attorney for thirteen years until he retired from practice due to health problems. Reverend Jesse Jackson currently resides in Chicago with his wife Diana Tolbert Jackson as well as their two children Josephine Grant (born 1985) and Kiari King (born 1987). Today's Bolingbrook is a vibrant community with several businesses existing within its boundaries; some are small local businesses while others have larger footprints such as First American Bank which has over $100 million worth of assets under management. These businesses provide jobs for locals as well as services that support residents such as water systems or dog walking services; all while upholding traditions like independent grocery stores or ice cream parlors that have housed this community since its early days

In 2002 Bolingbrook became an official UNESCO City of Literature while also becoming home to several world-renowned museums including the Museum of Modern Art (MMA), Field Museum Of Natural History (FMOH), National Gallery Of Art (NGA), as well as two new art academies - Northwestern University’s Feinberg School OfGallery Arts & Sciences and Pace University’s Zankel School of Visual Arts - both part of Northwestern University’s Diverse Schools campus initiative The rich cultural legacy that has been created in Bolingbrook over the years has earned it multiple accolades including being designated a UNESCO City of Culture in 2003 As one of America's most diverse cities with neighborhoods that are ethnically split among Polish Americans; Italian Americans; African Americans; HispanicAmericans; Asians/Pacific Islanders; gays/lesbians/bisexuals; transgender people - Boltimore offers something for everyone!

Bolingbrook was once known as a manufacturing center for products such as cotton ginners' tools and saddles; however, heavy industry closed down during the late 20th century and much of what remain today are low-income or working class suburbs of Chicago
