Blue Island, Illinois is a small town located in the northwest corner of the state of Illinois. The population was 7,451 at the 2010 census. The town was named for the color blue and its natural resources; most notably coal and iron ore. The first gun magazine in Blue Island opened in 1881, making it one of the oldest gun magazines in America. The Gun Owners of Illinois is a nonprofit organization that works to protect Second Amendment rights in Illinois. In 2002, Governor George Ryan signed an executive order creating a regulation requiring all gun dealers to make sure that customers are aware of their right to possess firearms without permits or registration. This law went into effect on January 1, 2003. Since then, Blue Island has seen many changes related toguns: In 2013-14, Blue Island's police department issued around 3100 citations for carrying weapons without a permit or registration – more than any other city within 20 miles of Chicago! Until recently, blue island had no ordinance regulating carry permits outside of village limits (outside Chicago) and no ordinance regulating open carry outside ofChicago village limits

Blue Island is named for blue water discovered on its banks by early settlers. The village was organized in 1874, and became a city in 1903. In 1968 the city merged with nearby Maywood to form the current City of Chicago. According to the 2010 census, Blue Island has a total area of , all of it land. As of the census released in October 2010, there were 1,711 people living in Blue Island villages: 601 females and 542 males; median age was 44 years old; 38% were under the age of 18; 11% were 65 years old or older; 9% had no economic interest in village life; 8% were employed full-time and lived below poverty line; 5% were students at academic institutions other than high schools (including community colleges). As one result of this population growth rate as well as an increase housing prices due to gentrification within walking distance from most shops and services (the majority being restaurants) Village residents have been asked to consider ways they can manage their own growth without sacrificing quality amenities orcommunity spirit.

The development of handgun magazines started with handguns designed for use with round-based ammunition such as centerfire Winchester (FMJ) bullets or early percussion caps (i.e., “ball” type ammunition). These handguns had barrels that could be shortened to handle handgun rounds but still retained some ability to hold large numbers of rounds within easy reach on occasion. As handgun cartridge popularity grew, so too did demand for gun magazine space within rifles/pistols designs such as those made by Colt Model 1860 Single Action Army (SA), Remington Model 715 Target Rifle, Ruger No9 Carbine, Savage Arms Agency Rifles etcetera. By the early 20th century pistol designs were starting to be adapted more generally to accept rifle round types including high pressure ballistics new developments in smokeless powder technology which led eventually to modern automatic firearms designs like Glock pistols and Smith & Wesson revolvers chambered for .45 ACP/.40 S&W Magnum cartridges which accounted for about 75% of all pistols handmade in America during this time period

Blue Island, Illinois was once a thriving farming community that is now a ghost town. The community was founded in 1851 by Alexander and Anna Smith and quickly grew to become one of the most important communities in the area. The Smiths were responsible for many important milestones in Blue Island's history including developing the first school on the island, building the first church on the island, and helping to create what is now known as the " Towne Hall District". In 1862, after years of growth, Blue Island began to experience problems with its water supply. despite numerous attempts by local farmers to find a solution, no successful solution could be found. In 1865, following an agreement between Blue Island's residents and a group of investors from Chicago, construction began on what would eventually become known as Lake Michigan Boulevard. This project would help to solve Blue Island's water problem and make it much more accessible for local businesses. Despite its successes over the years, however, Green Bay gradually becameogie into prominence over Blue Island as the center of economic activity in central Illinois. By the mid-19th century, Green Bay had overtaken Blue Island as one of Illinois' leading towns. As a result of this change in fortunes, many residents left Blue Island for greener pastures during this time period. Today only a few remains of blue island’s original settlers remain – some are still living within walking distance of their homes while others have passed away completely.
Blue Island was founded in 1834 by John K. White and his brother, George White. The first post office on the island was established in 1837. In 1845, Blue Island became a town and was governed by a board of trustees. On July 1, 1865, Blue Island passed under the jurisdiction of the new city of Chicago
