The shop was known for its high-quality firearms and pistols. From 1871 to 1893, the shop was run by George Fenton. In 1893, the business passed to J.B. Watson and from 1908 to 1915 it was run by Hemanus Larkin. It was then sold to Elisha Kogan in 1915 and operated as Kogan & Sons until 1984 when it became a part of Sauer & Schneider gun company under the ownership of Dick Sauer Jr.. In 1984, Dick Sauer Jr., who also owned another firearms store in Bellwood called “The Armory” purchased Kogan & Sons from Sauer & Schneidergun company and continued operations as a separate entity within Sauer&Schneider gun company until 1998 when it merged into Sturm Ruger Firearms Corporation (better known as Sturm Ruger). At that time, both businesses were combined into one single firearm store named “Sturm Ruger Firearms Corporation” which is still extant today and located at 4200 N Western Ave., Bellwood, IL 60514

Bellwood is a small, unincorporated community in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The community was founded on July 20, 1879 by George Washington Bell and his wife Eliza. It is named for the bell tower of the local Methodist church. Belleville is located to the east of Bellwood and it's also an unincorporated community. Belleville was organized in 1892 as part of a county wide consolidation effort which then raised taxes to support the new government. The post office at Belleville was opened on December 1, 1912. The population of Belleville peaked at 2,829 in 1930 but has since declined significantly; its 2010 census population estimate is 714. Belleville currently has one business: A convenience store operated by J's Chris' Supermarket Inc..

Bellwood has a population of around 1100 people today. The town is located on the banks of the Chicago River. The Bellwood community grew up around railroads, and many of its residents worked for the Illinois Central Railroad or for other railroads that passed through the area. In the early 1800s, Bellwood was home to two primary businesses: a gristmill and a cheese factory. There were also some smaller businesses, such as a grocery store, which operated until the early 21st century. In 1872, Elijah White set up shop as a cotton ginning business south of town on what is now Main Street. This business became one of Bellwood's most important economic engines throughout its history, helping to create jobs for locals and contribute to local development. Other key aspects of White's business include sales promotion and customer service; he would take care of all marketing and advertising efforts himself. By 1907, bellwoods had acquired its own school system - one which remains operational to this day! One significant event duringbellwoods' early days involved an attempt by Elijah White to bring electricity directly into his home from underground wires – an endeavor which failed spectacularly but served as a learning experience that ultimately led to his later success in running his own business without aid from government coffers
