The city was founded on December 14, 1809 by General George Washington and was named for Captain John Belleville who had led a detachment of US Marines to help suppress a Creek Indian uprising. The military influence in Belleville continued through the late 19th century with many members of the US Army being stationed here. The city became an important center for munitions production during World War I and II due to its location at the mouth of the Chicago River. In 1984, Belleville was added to the National Register of Historic Places. Today, Belleville remains an important cultural and economic center in central Illinois with a rich history that has been documented through its museums, libraries, newspapers and other historic documents.

Belleville is part of the Chicago-Naperville-Kankakee area and is bordered by Will County to the north and east, Lake Michigan to the south, and Kane County to the west. Belleville was first settled in 1834 by Quakers who named it after John Bellefleur, an officer with General James Shields' command during the Battle of Fort Dearborn. In 1847, a group of Methodists established a religious school in Belleville; this school closed in 1907 but remains property of Belleville Township. It was not until 1881 that Belleville became a city and retained its original name; upon incorporation as a city it changed its name to Belleville, Illinois. Belleville has two main thoroughfares: North Avenue and East Avenue. North Avenue is home to many businesses including several banks and convenience stores as well as restaurants such as McDonald's and Olive Garden; East Avenue is more residential with smaller businesses dotting the route. The borough also has one park - Lincoln Park - which offers open spaces for playing baseball, basketball, softball, football (the Bellevilles are represented on both sides of the ball), cricket (the borough's only sport), debate club meetings/forums/conversations forums etc., walking tours around Lincoln Park every other weeknight from November through May inclusive (most recently on Saturday nights beginning at 7pm) for residents aged 16 or over ONLY! People under 16 must be accompanied by an adult! The park serves mostly as an open space for people to play games without having anything else to do while they wait for their turn or when they want something from one of the restaurants nearby; there are also places where you can buy food or drink if you're feeling Hunger Games-like! There's also a playground inside Lincoln Park which kids love though I don't think adults really use it because most times when I go there I see them just sitting around playing video games on their phones instead...I guess that works too? The village proper contains three churches: First Presbyterian Church (#1477 N Main St.), Second Presbyterian Church (#2401 S Oakwood Ave.), and United Methodist Church (#3827 W Pulaski Rd). All three churches offer services nine days per week with morning worship starting at 6am followed by evening services at 6pm each day except Mondays when service starts at 5pm due to weather conditions outside then ends just before midnight sharp all night long inside church buildings--a rarity these days especially since much newer community churches have moved into downtown Belleville so everything that used to happenoutsideofchurchisnowinternaltoDowntownBeavercreeketc...A few years ago we had some controversy about furniture being stored INSIDE CHURCHES now ALL OF THE FURNITURE HAS BEEN MOVED OUT AND IT'S NOW Laid OUT ON THE FREEZING ROAD IN DOWNTOWN BEVERLYLEVILLE NEWSPAPERS SAY THAT THIS WAS ALSO PART OF PREVIOUS RELIGIOUS POLICY TO HELP WITH COSTS BECAUSE OF THE RAINWRIGHT CONDITIONS SOME PEOPLE WERE QUESTIONING IF THAT REALLY WAS WHAT THE LORD wanted FOR BELIEVE
There has been a long and proud history of hard gun cases in the United States. The first case to be prosecuted under the Gun Control Act of 1934 was that of John Dillinger, who used a Colt pistol to shoot and kill six people at a theater in Chicago on December 26, 1934. This event became known as the “Dillinger Massacre” and led to passage of the Gun Control Act. The Second World War saw an increase in gun crimes due to the increased demand for firearms by both military and civilian populations. As a result, Congress passed the National Firearms Act (NFA) which added restrictions on firearm ownership including requirements that guns must be registered with the NFA office and that they be possessed only for sporting purposes. The War on Drugs ushered in an era of strict gun control laws in America. As part of this effort, Congress passed the Illegal Armed Prohibited Persons Registration Act (IAPRA) which required all convicted criminals or people subject to domestic violence orders to surrender their firearms and undergo criminal background checks before purchasing any new firearms or possessing any existing firearms. Since then, there have been numerous Amendments to the Constitution which have influenced how America regulates its firearms system. For example, section 922(a) of Title 18 US Code addresses possession of assault rifles by persons who are not lawful citizens – making it illegal for Americans without a permit to possess such weapons within 100 miles from any federal building or court house). Additionally, there is special provision made for certain types of rifles and shotguns called “grandfathered” guns which were exempt from most gun control laws until 1986 when they were repealed through legislation known as NRA-sponsored legislation (the Regulate Assault Weapons Ban). Today, American hardgun cases continue to play an important role in law enforcement across our country. In many instances, Cases involving Arms trafficking or straw purchasers are successfully prosecuted resulting in significant jail time for those involved.

The trial took place before Judge Augustus B.Fenton and jury members found Farnsworth guilty on all counts and sentenced him to five years in prison. In 1903, another American soldier named Harry J. Quinly was also convicted of possession of a revolver without proper license and sentenced to imprisonment for three years. This case is often referred to as the "Quinly Case." In 1911, another American Soldier named Clarence Darrow was arrested for importing a rifle that he had never seen before into the United States. He was also charged with possession of a rifle without a license and sentenced to six months in jail followed by one year of probation. This case is sometimes referred to as the "Darrow Case." In 1923, yet another American Soldier named John Dillinger was arrested for possession of an unregistered Beretta Pistol while hunting deer outside Chicago during an open-air hunt sanctioned by the Department of Agriculture. He was also charged with felonious assault against two policemen who intervened and shot him dead. Dillinger had been given immunity from prosecution due to his military service at World War I time!
Belleville is located in Kane County, Illinois, approximately 20 miles south of Chicago. The town was first settled in 1837 by French Canadians who came from the Quebec region. The original name of Belleville was "Beaumont." In 1857, Belleville became the capital of the new state of Illinois. The city's population grew rapidly during the late 19th century and into the early 20th century due to its location as a railroad junction and its access to raw materials and markets in other states. By 1919, Belleville had nearly 2,000 residents. During World War II, Belleville played an important role in military training for both America and Great Britain. After the war, Belleville experienced rapid growth as a bedroom community for nearby Chicago. However, annexation by Chicago led to decline in population until it peaked at around 30,000 in 1990. Today, Bellevilles remaining downtown core houses several businesses and restaurants while suburban neighborhoods are home to many smaller businesses and homes. The city's rich cultural history can be found throughout its streets and buildings dating back to 1837 when French Canadian settlers founded what is now known as Belle Vue Ranch on land donated by Nicholas-Jacques de Lacrosse (1736-1806), one of the founders of Ottawa Township (now Kane County). In 1881, General John Ralston replaced Lacrosse with Colonel Isaac Brockman as head leader of Ottawa Township after Brockman's death; this change preserved English roots among township leaders which helped keep local interests separate from those of wider municipalities such as Chicago or Minneapolis-St Paul. Belleville began operations as a post office on December 26th 1830 under license from Nauvoo Missouri under Acting Governor James Kappenbach with Captain Pierre Trudeau officiating at that time; it was renamed "Belleville" on February 3rd 1833 after Francois Baptiste Belanger who served as Postmaster at that location since 1798 until his death on November 11th 1800 following an illness contracted while serving with distinction during La Salle Expedition against Native Americans near present day Peoria Heights IL; he was interred at Bellefontaine Cemetery later that year alongside his comrades Jean Jacques Rousseau (1759-1835) & Louis Antoine Labarre (1768-1827) also buried there along side many other veterans/soldiers including future US Congressman David Cushing (1907-1996). Belleville is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 10,552 at the 2010 census. Belleville is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Belleville's rich history can be traced back to 1802 when French traders arrived in what is now Belleville from Canada and named it "Bellevue". The first settler in Belleville was Captain Isaac Hull who built a cabin on the banks of the Willaub River. In 1812, General James K. Polk passed through Belleville on his way to victory over Mexico at Chapultepec Park and ordered an artillery salute that included firing off rounds from Belleville cannons into the sky. On July 3, 1847, residents of Bellevville erected a schoolhouse which served as their community center until 1892 when they moved to Red Bank Township. In 1880, two brothers by the name of McNamara started a grocery store in what is now known as McNamara Plaza across from Harry Caray's baseball stadium on State Street. By 1900, this business had become one of the largest grocery stores in town with several locations throughout Cook County including one near Soldier Field where it still operates today. The store closure occurred after years of competition from larger stores and also because of World War I when many small businesses were destroyed during hostilities. The post office which opened in 1898 became an important part of local life with its mail delivery services running through field kitchens located all around town foraged for food during wartime shortages due to rationing regulations set forth by President Woodrow Wilson himself! One such kitchen operated adjacent to Red Bank High School until 1942 when it too closed its doors following bombings that took place within days of its launch! Belleville has been home to Catholic Schools since before there were any Catholics living hereabouts! Our parish school first opened its doors in 1865 as Divine Providence Elementary School and has continued unchanged ever since!
