Beach Park is a small town in Dixon Township, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settlers in Beach Park were Dutch immigrants who arrived in the early 1800s. In 1851, the government of Illinois purchased land east of present-day Beach Park and developed it as a quarantine station for travelers coming from abroad. The name "Beach Park" was chosen because there were no other towns in that area with similar names. In 1931, Beach Park became a municipality and has since grown to have a population of over 2,000 people. It is home to two high schools - Beechwood and Deerfield – as well as many businesses and cultural organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, the American Legion and several churches. The beach at which Beach Park sits is an important natural resource for local residents and visitors alike due to its sandy shores and crystal clear waters. There are several Flagship beaches within close proximity to Beach Park including Hennepin County's Snelling Bluff State Shoreline on the city's North Side; Clearwater Lakefront on Chicago's West Side; Southport Harbor on Long Island City; Asbury Shores on Staten Island; Chatham Bay on Cape Cod; or White Sands National Seashore located just outside Of Town limits in unincorporated Kane County.

Beach Park is a small town in Macomb County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It was named after Beachwood Point on the shore of Lake Michigan. The town was founded in 1849 and moved to its current location in 1892. The first settler in Beach Park was Isaac Shively, who arrived in 1849 with his family from Hartford, Connecticut. He built a cabin on what is now the corner of Third Street and First Avenue. In 1850, he married Margaret Woodbury and they started a house on the east side of Third Street. They had two children: Mary and Isaac Jr., who would become residents of Beach Park themselves in 1853. In 1854, John Ahern set up shop as a blacksmith near Second Avenue and First Street. That year also saw the arrival of George Wickenheiser from Steubenville, Ohio with his family for whom Beach Park would be their home for many years. Wickenheiser owned several land parcels around present-day Beach Park which he donated to the town for use as farmland or development sites. As one result of these donations and others during this time period, much of what is today known about Beach Park's history comes from primary sources such as deed records or local newspapers that were published locally at that time (e.g., "The Macomb Chronicle" etc.). In 1862, James Henson became the first white person to purchase land within present-day Beach Park when he purchased three acres at Second Avenue and First Street from Peter Giannini (the father of modern day Mayor Joe Giannini). This land later became part of what is now called Henson Place housing developments located just south of Third Street along Interstate 69 between Chicago Heights Boulevard/Hudson Road/Lincoln Highway northbound lanes and State Route 6 southbound lanes - all within present-day BeachPark limits! A few years later another white person bought property within present day beach park boundaries - Michael McCormick - who purchased five acres at Second Avenue southwest corner First Street from Abraham Beerschofsky (brother-in-law to Edward Beerschofsky). McCormick would help found Trust Company #2 bank building still standing downtown today - one which locals refer to simply as "McCormick's." In 1875 Michael Jethro O'Neill settled downriver adjacent to where McCormick's store stood on Brushy Creek Parkway northwest corner Fourth Street...O'Neill would help start Michigan Central Railroad serving both Township residents & visitors coming through Mackinac Bay via Porter Ferry until it closed operations circa 1960!!! On November 21st 1888 Reverend John Bemis located his Congregational churchyard deep inside township limits opposite Griggs Mercantile store site where beautiful new mausoleum remains today honoring Rev Bemis’s many accomplishments including being an original trustee/manager/director & founder Of Griggs Mercantile Bank! The first settlers in Beach Park, Illinois arrived in 1837. The town was named for Admiral David Barron who, as military governor of the Northwest Territory, had founded it in 1836. At its peak, Beach Park had a population of about 200 people and was located on the shore of the Chicago River. In 1860, Beach Park became the seat of government for Cook County. In 1870, the town was annexed by DuPage County and renamed Mount Prospect.
