The population of Beach Park increased from 6 to over 100 by 1915. The first post office was established in Beach Park on November 1, 1893. The town's first school was built in 1895 and the first store opened in 1897. In 1908, the town voted to separate from Cook County and become its own municipality. On May 15, 1912, Beach Park became a city with a population of over 2,000 people. On January 1, 2013, Beach Park became an official U.S. Census Bureau dissolved incorporated village after 54 years of existence
The Beach Park community was founded in 1892 when a group of businessmen and women donated land to the town. The first post office was established in 1893, and the first store opened in 1895. In 1896, the first school was built and operated by local teachers. In 1907, the town name was changed to Beacheside and in 1912, the first park was created. In 1924, the last school closed down and Beacheside transitioned into an independent municipality. The population of Beach Park grew rapidly during World War II due to military personnel stationed there. The biggest challenge faced by the town during that time were budget constraints which caused many services to be cut back. After the war ended,Beach Park experienced a rapid growth with new businesses opening up and more people moving into the community. During this time, Beacheside also started developing its infrastructure such as roads and libraries which helped make it easier for residents to get around town. By 1979, Beach Park had reached its current size with over 100 businesses located within its limits.
