The history of Beach Park, Illinois begins with the arrival of white Americans in the early 1800s. The area that now includes Beach Park was originally inhabited by Native American tribes. In 1836, General James K. Polk became president and decided to make Illinois a U.S. state. At this time, Beach Park was part of Iroquois County and was known as Hiawatha Nation territory. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Beach Park were farmers who started to settle the area in the 1840s. By 1850, there were about 100 people living in and around what is now Beach Park. Many of these settlers came from New England and were interested in farming land that they could use for themselves and their families. The first European-born mayor of Beach Park was John Ahern (1851-1901). In 1860, the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad passed through beach park and began providing transportation for people living around town. This new development caused many businesses to open up and led to a increase in population within beach park itself. By 1870, there were over 200 people living in beach park proper alone! In 1879, a post office called Beach Haven was established at what is nowBeachpark Elementary School Grounds on State Street near Atlantic Avenue between Beaches Boulevard and Waterfront Drive (now State Street NE). This location would become home to the town’s first store when it opened its doors! In 1886, following annexation by Shorewood Township, Beech Haven Post Office closed due to low mail volume! However, because it served as an important stop for students travelling between Shorewood Township schools and downtown Chicago during school days (until 1955), it remains one of the most historically significant locations associated with Beach Park today! In 1911, Bay City Brewing Company opened up shop on Lafayette Street just east of Center Road NW near present day Elmhurst Avenue NW (now Maurer BoulevardNW). Bay City Brewing Company would continue serving beer until 1991 when it closed down due to economic conditions within Cook County at that time! With all these changes taking place within Beach Park at various points throughout its history – you can be sure that there has been something pretty darn special happening here every step of the way!
Beach Park is a small town on the Illinois River in central Illinois. The population was 1,711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The name "Beach Park" derives from two locations: one on the beach and one near the park's entrance. The first location was a sandbar where people would sunbathe and play guitar or saxophone during summertime. The second location was closer to what is now the park, and it served as a playground for children who could not go to the beach due to high tide conditions. The current site of Beach Park was laid out in 1887 by citizens of Sandwich, Massachusetts, when they donated land for a public park that would include beacheside walks and tennis courts along with stores and homes for residents. In 1925, Beach Park became an incorporated village under the name of Beachwood Village because many of its residents had moved there from nearby municipalities such as Waukegan and South Holland. In 1942, Beach Park merged with neighboring village North Shore Village to form North Shore–Beach Park Township. In 1998, North Shore–Beach Park Township merged with Cook County to becomeCook County–North Shore Township. It has been reported that most people who live in Beach Park are descendants of those who settled there more than 100 years ago; some families have lived there continuously since before World War II!

Beach Park is a small town in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,611 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. Beach Park is known for its beaches and amusement park, as well as for its community spirit and social events. The town was established in 1887 by Rev. John Purdy and his wife, Sophia (née Hinkle). They named it after their children's summer holiday destination on Long Island Sound: "Beach Haven" on the Northwestern shore of Nassau Bay. In 1915, beach developer Julius Rosenwald donated land to the town to make it an amusement park with three giant water slides and a mineral spring that would serve as its source of water supply. The first amusement park opened in 1916; it became Beach Park Amusement Park Inc., which changed its name to Beach Park Amusement Company in 1922 when Rosenwald sold the company to Jules Feffer. In 1941, American Paper Co., one of Beach Park's early commercial partners, merged with Wickersham Paper & Chemical Company to become Wickersham-American Paper Corp.; Beach Park continued to be part of American Paper until 1985 when it became a part of Peet's Coffee Corporation effective 1 January 1986. In 1984–1985 Peet's Coffee Corporation made significant changes within its corporate boundaries resulting in what came to be called "The Great rearrangement." This involved selling off various assets throughout Peet's business empire including BeachPark Amusement Company (BPA) including all but two rides (the other being Donnybrook Mine roller coaster), kiosks serving coffee and pastries from retail locations inside BPA closedowning employees were rehired into other departments within Peet's corporation thereby creating what amounted effectively a merger/acquisition process whereby all aspects of BeachPark AmusementCompany were placed under one roof headed by then CEO Dave McNamara while McNamara served concurrently as President and Chief Operating Officer - both positions he held until his death on 4 March 2006 aged 80 years old After McNamara’s death several quick moves were made within Peet’s organization involving organizational structure such that many jobs vacated during his tenure were filled either through internal promotions or through acquisitions across divisions within PBWA
The Beach Park community began as a small farming village in the early 1800s. The area was first called "Beach Park" after the small beach on the Peninsula which was bisected by the present-day streets of Beach and Park. The name changed to "Bay View" after a small bay near where Bay View Avenue now stands. In 1892, a group of businessmen from Chicago purchased what is now known as the BeachPark Center, a shopping mall that served as an entertainment complex for local residents and visitors. The center was located on what is now the southeast corner of Bay View Avenue and State Street and it was one of the first shopping malls in Illinois. By 1951, when it closed its doors for good, Bay View had become one of the most popular communities in Chicago with its wide variety of businesses and its easy access to downtown areas.
