Beach Park is a town in Tazewell County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,798 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The town was organized on March 25, 1853, from portions of the towns of Geneva and Rome. The name was chosen because it was a long beach east of Rome on the northern bank of the Chicago River. There were no hotels or other businesses opened until after World War II when Beach Park became popular with tourists for its wide variety of activities including fishing, swimming, boating, and sunbathing. In 1969 Beach Park merged with neighboring village Geneva to form an enlarged town which still exists today as a separate municipality with its own government and police department. In 2000 Beach Park incorporated as a city under municipal law following approval by voters in a referendum held that year. Beach Park is located at (41.827887,-87.472254). According to the 2010 census, it has a total area of , all land; however this may be an underestimate because some water bodies are not included in reported acreage such as Lake Michigan which makes up . As of 2006 there were 544 housing units consisting primarily of two-story Bungalows and one-story Frame Homes dating back to the early 1900s that can be found throughout most parts of Town including along State Street between First Avenue and Ninth Street just southwest of State Street Cemetery Also present are many small businesses serving citizens within their respective areas such as banks/marts/, restaurants/bars/, home builders/home improvement stores/ departments etc... One should also mention that much like other small towns across America over time they have accumulated their own unique character due largely to their residents who have made sure that their community will remain vibrant through various means such as social clubs,, business associations,,etc... making it one stop shop for many needs regardless size or location

Beach Park is a small town in Putnam County, Illinois, United States. The population was 792 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The first European to visit Beach Park was John James Audubon, who stopped here on his way from Battle Creek, Michigan to Chicago in 1837. In 1881, General James Hays and his Rough Riders spent the night at Beach Park after their raid on Cairo, Illinois; General Hays included it among the places he visited during his Indian Wars campaigns. In 1912, Beach Park's post office opened and remained in operation until it closed in 1964. In 1915-1920s there were two businesses operating as "The Post Office and Newsstand". One store was called "The Gossamer Store" while another was known as "The Floral Shop". In 1924-1935 there were also two businesses operated as "Apostle's Pizza" (now defunct) and "Pizza Hut". After World War II ended, most of the manufacturing industry left Beach Park for other suburbs in nearby Carbondale andNormalville. However some new industries have started up such as a plastics company that produces materials for plastic products, an appliance store/barn that sells electronic equipment and appliances along with home repairs/references/, a car dealership /gas station/, an animal feed mill/, a tire shop/, three restaurants (/vegetarians /and one Mexican), four retail stores (/fishing supply store', '/grocery store', '/carpet cleaning supplies'), five single family homes ('Homesitters'/housewives/) - all of which are still extant today - twelve farm fields (), eleven service buildings ('School District Administration Building' now used as a restaurant), thirteen mobile homes (), two churches () - both Baptist - one cemetery (), one park () - now known as Recreation Area – three boat slips ().
Beach Park was founded in 1892 by J.P. Morgan and other investors as a location for a summer resort. The first year the park had only 31 residents. In 1893, it became an amusement park with games, rides, and a swimming pool. It quickly became one of the most popular places in Illinois for holidays and picnics. Beach Park was renamed Chicago's "Summerland" in 1903 after its opening to the public. In 1912, Beach Park was purchased by the city of Chicago for $10,000. It became part of the city's Parks Department and remained open to the public until 1933 when it was closed due to financial troubles. In 1934, it reopened as part of Roosevelt Field State Park which still remains vacant today
