The history of target holders in Bartlett, Illinois dates back to the early 1800s. The first Target Holder In town was built in 1798 by Joshua Nadel and his wife Rebecca. It was a one-man operation and they used an old barn as their shooting range. Over time, other individuals purchased Target Holders from Joshua Nadel and continued to use them for target practice. In 1847, Edwin Farnsworth established the Farnsworth Rifle Shop in Bartlett and began selling Target Holders. He started off with two models- the FarnsworthTarget Holder I and the FarnsworthTarget Holder II. These targets were made of cottonwood wood and bordered with leather straps that allowed shooters to hold onto them while shooting. By 1860, Edwin Farnsworth had added a third model- the FarnsworthTarget Holder III. This target was made of hardboard and had a metal frame that allowed shooters to grip it firmly without affecting its accuracy. These three Models are still being sold today as Target Holders continue to be popular among Gun Owners throughout Illinois!

Bartlett, Illinois was home to one of the most famous rifle shooting events in America. The first organized rifle shooting event in Bartlett took place on February 14, 1873. The event was organized by a group of men who were looking for a way to stop the spread of tuberculosis in the town.
Bartlett is a village in Bartholomew Township, McLean County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,505. The Village is located on the banks of the Ottawa River. Bartlett is bordered by Geneva to the north and east, La Grange to the west and south, and Davenport to the southeast. The village was platted in 1855 by John F. Bartlett and his brother-in-law George Stephenson as a post office named for George Stephenson's father-in-law, Elijah Bartlett. In 1857, Samuel Morse moved from Braytonville to build a new home in Bartlett and donated land for a school house which served as both post office and town hall until it burned down in 1868. In 1865–66 two churches were built: one called Christ Episcopal Church (later known as First Methodist) and another called Hope Baptist Church (now known as Emmanuel Lutheran). In 1870 Charles Goodyear settled in Bartlett with his family after moving from Romeoville near Chicago. Goodyear began manufacturing tires on his farmsteads before starting a tire factory in1876 that became one of America's largest manufacturers of tires

It consisted of two posts with sharp points at each end, which were used to hold targets in place while the shooter aimed. In 1825, George Stephenson invented and patented the first practical Target Holder. This device consisted of a post with two round holes drilled in it, through which a projectile could be fired. The Hole on top of the Post held the target between the post and receiver, allowing the shooter to hit it quickly and easily. It wasn't until 1869 that John Lanchester patented his own system for holding targets - this time using straps around four Posts instead of sharp points on either end. These new Target Holder systems became popular among tournament shooters because they allowed for more accurate shots from much greater distances than previous methods. After centuries of development, ShootingTargetHolder is now one of America's most common firearms accessories!
Bartlett is a small town in Cass County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1,852 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first settler in Bartlett was Jeremiah Harmon in 1837. The community was founded on July 4, 1881 by Lewis Fenton and his wife Annabelle Rogers as a summer home for their family. It grew rapidly due to its location on the Cass-Cook county line and its availability of water resources. On December 3, 1886, the village became an incorporated town with a population of 418 residents. At that time it had three stores and one blacksmith shop. By 1912, Bartlett had six churches and twelve schools; it also boasted a post office and two hotels/motels. In 1928, the village built its first firehouse; according to legend, one vote against the building resulted in its construction because no other towns could provide firefighters for free during this time of economic recession. In 1934-35 Bartlett experienced significant flooding which caused extensive damage to both homes and businesses along Main Street; however damages were lessened by insurance payments from the state government days after the event. That year saw also Bartlett's first football team play in an organized sport when they joined what would become known as "The Illinois League". The next year saw them join what would become known as "Great Lakes Football Conference" (later renamed "Great Lakes Football League"). They finished second in their division but advanced to their first ever conference championship game where they narrowly defeated Detroit 39-36 However they lost again to Decatur 14-10 In 1938 they won their third league championship game defeating Rock Island 9-3 They then made it allthe way to Nagasaki Bowl where they played Michigan State 38-7 However they lost 36-0 despite playing with 10 men after receiver Harry Brown got injured
