According to the 2006 census there were 1,512 people inbartlettownship; 101 households out of which 36% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60% were married couples living together and 24% were non-families; 48% of all households were made up of individuals and 15% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.[1] The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.92.[2] In bartlettownship only 6 out of every 100 families (16%) had one child under 18 years old; all other families represented 20%, 30%, or 40%.[3][4] With respect to ethnicity: American Indian/Alaskan Native - 21%; Black - 68%; Hispanic - 12%; Asian - 7%; European American - 4%; Other race - 5%.[5][6]
