According to history books & online sources alike, many important events have occurred within or near Barrington Center over time- some that may be particularly noted include: 1851 - Samuel Armstrong Claiborne purchases 640 acres of land east of present day Rushville Road & south of what is now owned by Park Ridge Industrial Complex from John Pemberton for $2 per acre + interest; this land would become known as "Barrington". “Samuel Armstrong Claiborne founded what is today called ‘Barrington’ when he purchased 640 acres from John Pemberton for $2 per acre plus interest on October 20th, 1851″ according to an article written by Lisa Tuttle for DNAinfo Illinois dated September 8th, 2009 Additionally “the township was organized on February 13th [1871], with Samuel Armstrong as its first president” according to an article written by Joycelyn Gorman for CBSChicago dated January 9th, 2011 . 1875 - First School opens in BARRIERTON Village with teacher Mrs Lavinia Ewing teaching 2nd grade students; students attend public schools until 1904 when they are reclassified into 4th grades under new legislation which allows unification of school districts starting with fifth grade Barnstable ISD students only were schools remain open until 1924 when they are closed due tobudget cuts – residents had voted not to annexIndustry/Addison during their meeting on November 14th 1913 but did so later that same year when it became financially unviable According to articles written by Joycelyn Gorman for CBSChicago & Lisa Tuttle for DNAinfo Illinois backdate November 14 th 1913 ; additonally aalderton Elementary also opened that year however this school closed after one year due mainly because of high student enrollment rates among other reasons
