Additionally, much like Chicago's 'Neighborhood Projects' program which encourages redevelopment within already established neighborhoods through zoning changes and incentives available from government officials - this annexation also helped spur economic development within what was then a rural setting for many residents living inside City Limits; creating jobs and housing opportunities for those within commuting distance!
