In recent years, joblessness has become a common issue in Alsip; as a result, many people have begun looking for ways to relocate permanently or temporarily into nearby towns and cities. Today, there are only about 1 hundred residents living within what once comprised village limits; while there are still some small businesses active in town overall including several grocery stores and two restaurants - one open since 1978 - most businesses have either closed or relocated away due to difficult economic times throughout much of 2013-present statewide Trends show that joblessness rates across all industries continue trending upwards especially among young adults ages 16-24 Years old."
