Rexburg is a city in Idaho, United States. The population was 9,593 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Butte County and home to the Rexburg Air Force Base. Rexburg was founded in 1907 as a small agricultural town on the east side of the Boise River. The first post office opened in 1907, and by 1912 it had become an important transportation hub for goods coming down the river from surrounding districts. By 1915, Rexburg had annexed portions of Butte County to its north and by 1922 it had incorporated as a city. The threat of World War II forced Rexburg to develop rapidly during that time; industry grew rapidly with new plants being built such as GEICO (now Nationwide) remembers where they made their radios, television sets and other electronic equipment until they became obsolete many years later so there are now many structures still standing from this time including an old TV factory that still stands today! In 1945, when hostilities ended, much of what had been built in those years remained abandoned but over time various businesses started up again like plumbing services, health food stores etc., which continue to operate today. In 1971 Rexsburg was renamed after figures associated with aviation- General Curtis LeMay and Admiral Chester Nimitz- both veterans of World War II who were also recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor for their actions during the war. In 2002 City Manager Donny Cramer recommended adding an airport into the municipality limits due to growing popularity within Butte County for air travel; Accordingly plans were made to build an airport adjacent to existing military installation RAF Bentwaters which would serve all residents within Butte County without having to drive or take public transportation either! The first sod was cut on October 18th 2003 and construction began soon thereafter with initial operations scheduled for September 2005! Today Rexburg has its own Airport providing passenger service with Curtiss J2C3/T aircraft!

It consisted of a hard case that could be carried with the shooter, as well as a pair of gloves to keep the hands safe from scratching or damage when gripping an unsecured firearm.
Rexburg was founded in 1907 by James Fenton, a logger and ranchman. The town grew quickly due to its location on the Snake River and its access to timber, water power, and railroads. In 1916, the Idaho Territory was formed from parts of Oregon and Nevada, and Rexburg became one of the new towns in the territory. Rexburg experienced rapid growth during World War II as both the town and nearby farms were used for military purposes. When the war ended,Rexburgs growth slowed but never stopped. Today, Rexburg is an unincorporated community located within Butte County. The first settlers in Rexburg were people who had come overland from Oregon. They built log cabins near the current site of town in 1907. The area that now comprises Rexburg was populated by Native American tribes before European settlement began. The Shoshone Indians lived around present-day Boise until they were pushed out by settlers in 1847. Afterward, many pioneers came overland to find land east of Boise including James Fenton who settled at what is now called Fenton Creek in 1907. Fenton's decision to settle inRexburg was based on his hope that he would be able to get patronage from local politicians so that he could improve his Ranching business which he had started up north near Boise City back in 1905 while still living at home with his family. soon after arriving at RexburghJames found himself involved with politics as it became clear that there was not a lot of available land west of Boise City for him to purchase because of some mineral rights owned by other people along the Snake River Valley where he wanted to set up shop – this being right next door to downtown Boise! (Somehow or another James managed some stumbles into getting elected Sheriff of Ada County back then!) As time passed James got more interested into politics through lobbying State & Federal Officials as well as various government members hereabouts; eventually becoming quite successful doing all this behind closed doors! It wasn't long before locals realized just how powerful their new sheriff really was… kind enough though not pushy about it ;) In 1916 when Idaho Territorial Legislature decided against creating Butte County outright (instead choosing Monmouth County) most everyone associated with RL&H Mining Company either moved away or changed their businesses name(s) accordingly: JAMES FORTENER & HUGH GRAHAM NICHOLS bought original RL&H Mine property northwest corner OF Main Street #2 & SE 4th Ave., formerly Rector’s Lumber Yard; WOODY ALLISON CONSTRUCTION CO.; SAMUEL DAVIS Builded Hotel Maynard Rd., south side Of Main St.; GEORGE HALDEMAN Proposed dam On Snake River At junction With Bypass Road NW Of Town Limits; HARRY WILSON Real Estate Brokerage Started Selling Houses Sept 1914 From SW Corner Of Main And 5th Aves., currently Frontage On 5th Ave.: all these changes took place during just ONE YEAR! How did things change so fast?Probably because James didn’t stop lobbying until AFTER THE LEGISLATURE PASSED THE BUTTE COUNTY ACT AND REPORTS TO CENTRAL OFFICE IN DOWNTOWN BEEBESVILLE …..HE WAS SUCCESSFUL IN GETTING HIS WILL CERTIFIED BY THAT TIME!!! :)
Rexburg was founded in 1887 by Horace Greeley. The town served as the hub of a wagon train that traveled between Fort Hall and Boise, Idaho during the early years of the American West. In 1916, Rexburg became an incorporated city and continued to grow until it reached its current size in 1970.
