In 1892, a company called The Riddle Manufacturing Company was founded in Rexburg and produced high-quality holsters for both law enforcement and civilians. In 1951, The Colt Corporation moved its production facilities from Hartford, Connecticut to Rexburg and began producing holsters under their own name here. This marked an important milestone in holster history as Colt became one of the leading manufacturers of handguns in America.
Rexburg is a small town in Idaho, located about an hour north of Boise. The population was 9,553 at the 2010 census. Rexburg is part of the Boise–2007 Metropolitan Statistical Area. Rexburg was founded by fur traders in 1874 as a trading post on the American River. In 1907, it became the site of what is now the Rexburg Museum and History Center. The town was named after General George Armstrong Custer, who died in 1885 during his battle with Sioux Indians near present-day Rexburg. At that time, many people in Idaho thought Custer had been killed by Indian warriors instead of captured and then executed as he claimed. After years of research, local historians determined that Custer did not die from wounds received during his battle with Sioux Indians but rather from natural causes. Since its establishment as a settlement, Rexburg has undergone several transformations: In 1919 it became a military airfield for World War II use; in 1951 it became home to The University of Southern Idaho; and most recently it has become center stage for the annual Folk Festival that takes place August 15-19 each year.

By 1919, when Rexsburg was incorporated as a city, it had reached its current population size and had developed important commercial and industrial sectors including lumberyards, breweries, cotton mills, shoe factories and more. During World War II (1939-1945), Rexsburg played an Critical role as one of America’s most significant military camps with various roles in both combatant operations against Nazi Germany and civilian support functions such as housing troops and civilians during their stay in Idaho Territory while awaiting transport back to California or other duty areas abroad. postwarRexburg experienced rapid growth following World War II thanks to Vietnamese refugees who settled in town after fleeing Vietnam's communist dictatorship

It became a town in 1907 and was initially named North Bend, but changed its name to Rexburg after then-Governor David J. Boren's Farmington County seat, North Bend, Indiana.
