Rumors have circulated for years about the strange and terrible events that took place in Rexburg, Idaho during the early 1800s. One particular legend has it that a group of gunmen called The Gunslingers terrorized the small town with impunity, killing anyone they pleased. The Gunslingers were a secret society of outlaws who operated out of what is now known as the Rexburg Trading Post. They were rumored to be able to shoot straight from their hands, so any person caught wielding a gun was likely dead or gone forever. Legend has it that one day an old man named John Jenson came to town and started cleaning his guns. When he asked why everyone was so afraid of him, the gunman-turned-gentleman told him about The Gunslingers and how they could kill anyone with ease. John Jenson became convinced that he needed to help these people if he ever wanted to keep them safe, so he offered his services as a gunman himself. The Gunslinger's Society lasted until 1851 when they were finally hunted down and disbanded by local law enforcement agencies. In all likelihood, this event was responsible for sparking the development of firearms safety laws in America which we still use today!

Rexburg is a small town in Idaho, United States. The population was 730 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Boise County. The first settler in what would become Rexburg was John Horsfall in 1883. He and his family moved to the area from Oregon that year and started a flour mill. In 1884, another settlers, Fenton McKnight, opened the first post office in what would become Rexburg. The first store was founded by two brothers named Hiram and Amos Peck on Commercial Street in 1893. In 1907, the name of Rexburg was changed to honor General George Armistead Lee who had fought for America at Appomattox Court House during World War I. A high school (now known as Boise State University) was built in 1911 on land donated by local ranchers and farmers for that purpose. The original campus consisted of just a few buildings, but it grew rapidly over time with additions including a gymnasium, library, football stadium/field house and more buildings until it reached its present size today on North Jefferson Boulevard across from Boise State University’s main administration building). Rexburg also became home to one of America's leading lumber companies when James Wickersham became head forester for Pacific Lumber Company (later Redwood Timber Company) here in 1916 after leaving his job at Jepson & Sons Logging Company located near Portland Oregon where he had been employed since 1903.. James Wickersham soon developed an intense interest in forestry which led him to found Redwood Timber Company which eventually became one of the world’s largest forest products companies headquartered outside the United States For many years before WWII Rexsburg served as an important airbase used by both USAF fighter pilots flying training missions over western parts of North America then ferrying bombers back into Europe after their mission; sometimes both facilities were used at once . As part of World War II efforts against Japan there were significant expansion plans made for this community but these never came to fruition because war brought economic ruin to much of eastern Idaho following Pearl Harbor . After the war ended most residents returned to their pre-war routines although some new businesses were started such as a computer company established by Ralph Engelbach that enjoyed success up until its closure due to financial problems around 1990 . In 1945 when Idaho joined the United States she lost much of her timber industry so Rexberg did not experience any major changes other than increased housing prices associated with suburban growth throughout this era
Rexburg was founded in 1887 as a small farming town and is still home to many of its original residents. The community currently sits on the banks of the Snake River, just east of Rexburg. Rexburg was originally named after George M. Rex, an entrepreneur who founded a local grocery store and served as the town's first mayor.
