Gun barrel history in Rexburg, Idaho starts with the first firearms being Built in 1881. The early firearms were muzzleloaders which were simple to use and much less dangerous than handguns. These muzzleloader guns were used by ranchers and farmers to shoot game during long range hunting trips. In 1907, a machine gun was invented which allowed for faster fire rates and increased accuracy. This new firearm was called the Gatling Gun and it became very popular among military forces around the world. After World War II, many Americans started traveling abroad and needed to bring their own firearms with them. As more people traveled outside of the United States, they began importing large quantities of guns which led to the development of barrels for these imported weapons. By 1960, there were over 100 gun barrelmakers in Rexburg alone! Today,gun barrels are still used extensively throughout the United States for a variety of purposes including target shooting, self-defense, hunting, law enforcement and military purposes. In 1948, the Rexburg Rifle Society merged with the Idaho Rifle Association to form the present day Idaho Rifle and Pistol Association (IRPA).
Rexburg is a town in Boise County, Idaho, United States. The population was 9,754 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Europeans to visit Rexburg were fur traders from the Northwest Territories in 1827. A post office was established in 1868, and by 1870, Rexburg had three stores and one blacksmith shop. In 1881, a water works was built;Rexburg became an incorporated town on December 16, 1886. The first school was built in 1889 and it lasted until 1907 when it burned down; a new school was completed in 1912 and it lasted until 1951 when it also burned down. In 1909–10, Rexsburg won the state championship for football with an 8-0 record. On November 3 1910 their opponent Nampa lost 10-7 at home to claim the title which they would keep for six years until 1935 when they lost again to Twin Falls 14-6 on downs after leading 7-0 at halftime. On January 1 1911, Rexburg annexation by Cottonwood City made them its second city with a population of over 5500 people! After that annexation process ended on July 1 1916 due to lack of voter approval from all participating cities (Cottonwood City only had 4% of voting residents), Rexburg reverted back to its original size as an unincorporated community under the name "Rexburgh." It wasn't until 1951 that there finally appeared any real growth or development taking place within town limits as many businesses moved out into what is now known as the downtown area (although some buildings still remain). However this period did bring about major changes for both residents and those living outside of town limits such as construction of Interstate 84 just east of town line making access much easier for everyone involved without having to leave their homes - something that has continued even today!

At its peak in the 1920s,Rexburg had a population of over 100,000 people. After World War II, Rexburg declined as an agricultural center due to competition from more developed towns on the eastern edge of the state. However, since the late 1990s it has regained some of its former prominence as an educational and business center for eastern Idaho.
Rexburg was founded in 1879 by George W. Rex and his family. The town became a part of the United States in 1907. Rexburg was named after General George W. Rex, who fought in the Mexican-American War and then served as a U.S. Army general during World War II.
