They used a piece of metal roofing as a stand that they placed over an old barrel. They would shoot targets out their front window. The targets would rebound off the roof and hit the ground behind them, leaving impressions on the pavement below. These stand-up targets became very popular with local youngsters and adults alike and continue to be enjoyed by shooters to this day. In 1912, Post Falls native John Echevarria started making Target Holder Company target holders out of aluminum alloy. He was inspired by his father’s experience when he was shot at close range while playing in his backyard. John continued making these devices until 1934 when he sold the business to George McCarthy who renamed it again as Post Falls Armory Products Co., Inc.. post falls armory products is still in operation today as a manufacturer of Shooting Targets and other sporting goods

One reason for this decline was that mostofthepost-war construction boom went to other cities such as Boise and Nampa instead of Post Falls because those towns already had populations larger than 1,000 people and could support more heavy industry than Post Falls could ever hope to do. By 1960 post-war prosperity had returned post-Floods but by 1990 post-falls' population stood at 3,754 with 2% growth per year In recent decades there have been several revitalization efforts led by local businesses and philanthropists including donations from Ivanpah Solar Energy District founder SunPower Corporation president Andy Comstock (later CEO), his wife Diane Hendricks SunEdison Inc.'s vice president for corporate affairs Suzanne Potter (founder/CEO of Pottery Barn Brands)and Dick Costolo Koch Industries Chairman Adam Szubin among others which have resulted in an increase in economic activity and new development around town including: an updated library system with more than 100oirds; an ArtsQuest complex featuring three theaters; KFC World Center which opened in 2013; Kids' Zone which includes four playgrounds; Anheuser Busch Park where community events are held such as baseball games; Aveda Cosmetics headquarters; two medical centers - one hospital affiliated with Intermountain Medical Group hospital chain (one downtown), located on Main Street adjacent to Veterans Memorial Hospital after being purchased by Great Lakes Health Partners ;[1] The Lodge Casino Resort & Spa - opening late summer 2016 - offers luxury resort amenities such as golf courses,, pools., tennis courts,. spa treatments..
