The Post Falls Shooter Eye Protection Initiative began in the fall of 2006 as a way to keep shooters and their families safe from harm. The initiative was spearheaded by City Manager Randy Hildebrand, who felt that there was an need for better safety measures for both individuals and groups working in or visiting Post Falls. Since its inception, the Shooter Eye Protection Initiative has seen many successes. In the fall of 2006, City Manager Randy Hildebrand convened a meeting with members of the local firearms industry to discuss ways to improve shooter eye protection. Afterward, several companies offered their services in order to create legislation that would mandate better eye protection for all residents of Post Falls. In early 2007, the ordinance was passed with support from both Mayor Donny Hathaway and City Councilmember Cathy Smith. The ordinance requires businesses that are within 1,000 feet of any public building in Post Falls to provide meek headwear (eyeglasses) for employees who use assault rifles or shotguns while on work or school property. It also requires businesses that are within 500 feet of any public building in Post Falls to provide similar eyewear for customers who purchase weapons at their store. Despite these laws being passed successfully, it still remains illegal to possess a weapon without proper eye protection in Idaho – which means many people continue to face danger when using their guns outside of post falls city limits. The Shooter Eye Protection Initiative is currently working towards bringing this issue before Idaho’s state legislature so that they can make sure this law is upheld across the state into the future.

May 14, 1916 - A man shot and killed an employee at the local grocery store. October 2, 1918 - An individual fired shots from a rifle into a crowd at a baseball game in town. No one was injured.
Post Falls is a town in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. The population was 2,670 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise–Tahoe Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first Post Falls residents were pioneers who set up a trading post in 1864 and named it "Aurora." They did this because they thought the name would bring good luck to their store. The post office was established in 1865 and operated until 1886. In 1897, Post Falls built its first school which became one of the most successful schools in the area. In 1915, Post Falls became an incorporated town. In 1936, it amalgamated with nearby Moran to form a new city by then-Mayor Harry Smeaton. On November 8th, 1957, during the infamous Chinook earthquake that struck central Idaho and surrounding areas killing more than sixty people and injuring hundreds more, Post Falls experienced its own earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale! This event left much damage including several buildings that collapsed and destroyed many homes in what is now known as "The Earthquake Zone." In order to help bolster rebuilding efforts after such a devastating event, Mayor Smeaton authorized $1 million dollars from various sources to be allocated for this purpose through his city funds alone! The money was used to create two restoration projects; One focused on repairing infrastructure such as roads and systems within downtown Post Falls while another project focus on restoringhistoric architecture throughout town center including installations of new lighting fixtures as well as rehabilitating streetlights! Today both projects are still ongoing with additional repairs/updates planned every month or so! Today's Post Falls stands strong despite all that has happened over the years – some might call it resiliencies for THE CHINOOK!!!

Post Falls, Idaho is a small town located in the Boise Valley of Idaho. The population was 7,362 at the 2000 census and 8,921 as of 2011. It is part of the Boise-Butte-Teton County micropolitan area. The Post Falls Historic District is a national historic district that includes over 170 buildings and structures dating back to 1885. The first Post Falls settlement was founded by brothers Jacob and George Valentine in 1885 on the site of what are now downtown Post Falls. They named their post after General James K. Polk's headquarters at Fort Bridger in Montana Territory, which they had seen while traveling through that region on their way to become governor of Idaho Territory in 1888. In 1902, Post Falls became part of the newly formed State of Oregon; it remained an unincorporated community until it was incorporated as a city on April 20, 1907. During World War II, Post Falls played an important role in supplying military forces with munitions and supplies from local businesses and residents. More than fifty businesses were closed during the war due to low demand for goods; however, most returned to normal operations afterwards. The Thankful Day Community Liberation Center (now known as the Eisenhower Presidential Library) was built in 1945 to help soldiers who had been discharged from duty before Pearl Harbor without proper medical care or recognition from government officials; it remains one of the most notable examples of post-war community development in America. As its size increased over time – reaching 10,000 people by 1960 – Post Fall began facing challenges such as inadequate housing and infrastructure; however, city leaders did not let this slow down its growth or reduce its importance within Boise County overall. In 1990sand 2000s alike, efforts were made to increase tourism opportunities for both locals and visitors alike; this has led to more jobs available for locals since then as well as new commercial properties opening up around town cores like Main Street and Broadway Avenue). Despite these challenges though – including several fires that destroyed many homes between 2002-2005 – City Manager Randy Hall credits "the outpouring support" from citizens throughout his tenure for helping make Post Fall a "fine example" for other cities struggling with similar issues today (see also: Downtown Development Plan 2006–2015). Post Falls was founded in 1879 by A.H. Post and his brother-in-law, J.F. Gosnell. The brothers started a general store and post office here, which soon became the most important business center in the area. In 1909, Post Falls became an incorporated city with its own mayor and City Council. In 1916, Post Falls was named one of the "10 Most Beautiful Cities in America" by LIFE magazine.
