Gun targets have been a part of Post Falls, Idaho for over sixty years. The first target shooting clubs were started in the early 1920s and continued until the late 1960s. In 1949, the Post Falls Rifle Association was formed and has been providing target shooters with excellent opportunities to shoot from beginning to end season. Today, there are severalgun ranges within town that offer memberships as well as private sessions.
Post Falls, Idaho is a city in the U.S. state of Idaho and the county seat of Asotin County. The population was 939 at the 2000 census, making it the smallest city in Idaho. Post Falls is located on the Snake River and is a center for outdoor recreation including skiing, snowboarding, fishing, rafting and Kayaking. The city has a small downtown core with art galleries and restaurants as well as an information center which doubles as an event space for cultural events. The first Post Falls settlement was established by fur trappers in 1855. The town site was selected from among many submitted sites due to its location along the river and its potential for trade with Chinook traders travelling upriver from Oregon. A post office called Post Falls was established in 1857, but no mail arrived until 1861 because of difficulties getting supplies through Snake River crossing points then under US Army jurisdiction. By 1865, however, letters were arriving regularly from Portland via Wells Ferry across the river at present-day Lewiston. By 1890s Post Falls had become one of most important logging towns on the Snake River due to its position between timber camps operated by Jorgenson Companies (now Forest Products International) and customers in nearby Boise City who bought logs pre processed into lumber products such as boards or casks for shipment downriver to market before they were dried out by heat or rain. In 1916 after years of lobbying by Mayor Harry Landon(1911-20), Post Falls became incorporated as a city under state law following passage of what would later be known as "The Landon Act." On July 1st 1920 Main Street opened with Palmer Drug Store at one end followed by Wigwam's Cafe on the other side where today's Federal Building stands; both buildings are still standing today! In 1941 during World War II when all American cities were put into wartime blackout mode except for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Post Falls became a major production hub for military aluminum products created at nearby Stillwater Arsenal using local mined resourcesarsenal coal/zinc ore (a common supply source used throughout much of America during WWII). After hostilities ended there continued robust economic growth thanks to various manufacturing businesses that sprang up around post-war reconstruction: Anker Boatbuilders Inc., Honeysuckle Furniture Co., Centurion Paper & Rubber Co., United States Steel Corp., Kestrel Aircraft Corporation...the list goes on! Through numerous expansions over time these businesses have left their mark on Post Fall’s fabricating history: Today’s Anker Boatbuilders Inc.; Honeysuckle FurnitureCo.; Centurion Paper & Rubber Co.; United States Steel Corp.; Kestrel Aircraft Corporation are some of today’s largest employers within our community!

Post Falls is a cultural, economic, and political center in southeastern Idaho, home to some of the most diverse cultures in America and one of the fastest-growing cities in America.
In 1868, Post Falls was the first town in Idaho Territory. It was located on the Snake River and adjoined Montana. The post office opened in 1870 and remained in operation until it closed in 1916.
