This included an addition of a water tower which allowed for more irrigation operations around town; moreover, several hotels and businesses opened up in downtown Post Falls as demand for accommodation increased. In 1935, Mayor Earl Doherty designated Post Falls as the site for the United States Military Academy (USMA) after hearings revealed that nearby Boise would not be able to house all of USMA’s students due to their then-existing school buildings. Although initially opposed by some residents due to their fears about possible loss of commercial property or job opportunities within town limits, Doherty ultimately won over his opponents and moved forward with plans for USMA’s construction at present-day Post Fall Road/Old Main Avenue. Although World War II ledto significant decline in business activity overall within town limits following bombing raids on Pearl Harbor – including damage done both inside and outside of downtown – nonetheless many talented individuals found work during those years alone or together with companies neighboringPost Fall Road/Old Main Avenue such as Ford automobiles factory or DuPont chemicals plant (all later closed). Ultimately though low market demand after 1945 led USMA officials back into consideration for relocation elsewhere; however no move ever occurred before finally closing down in 1971 amidst protests from residents concerned about potential loss of key jobs if campus moved away entirely from their neighborhood(see also: Battle over closure: 1947). In recent decades much progress has been made both physically and emotionally within PostFall Rd./Old Main Ave.; consequentlyforthforward calls for continued preservation efforts have become more common among locals alike despite some initial opposition given that certain areas have seen limited usage etcetera [e.g., conversion of former High School into apartments]). Despite these challenges remain many questions surrounding why exactly “PostFall?” While some might simply ask why nothing has happened here lately while others might explore whether or not further community engagement is necessary given that seemingly overnight changes have taken place ensuingfrom gentrification& suburbanizationetc.?
