This allowed individuals who carried multiple pistols with them on various occasions easy access to additional ammunition without having to store extra rounds separately away from their primary weapons! Nampa is a city in central Idaho, United States. Situated on the Snake River and at the confluence of the Nampa and Payette Rivers, it straddles both banks of the river. The name was given to it by General George Armstrong Custer during his 1875 Campaign against the Sioux. The first settlers arrived in 1881, when Alexander Ross moved from Illinois with his family to start a ranch near present-day Nampa. In 1905, Nampa became a city after being incorporated as a village by an act of Congress. The population grew rapidly during World War II due to its location on military bases and its reliance on agriculture for revenue. After the war, Nampa experienced rapid growth as an industrial center; aerospace manufacturer Lockheed Martin was founded here in 1970 and remained headquartered until 2007. However, since 2000s there has been significant decline in economic activity around town due to competition from larger cities nearby. With only 2,500 residents remaining as of 2010,[1] Namba has become one ofIdaho's most distinctively small towns.[2] The history of Nampa began with what is now downtown; some 15 homes were built there during early settlement days[3][4]. By 1865, however, most residents had relocated away from what is now downtown because of rapid goldmining activity along the Snake River valley east of town (the so-called "old gold country"). The only buildings still standing in downtown today are two post office annexes dating back to 1912 – one belonging to Eastern Oregon Railway Company and another belonging to Confederated Tribes Indian Reservation No. 864 (C TIR 864).[5][6] This sudden change in environment caused much social upheaval: people wanted their old homes back but didn't have enough money or transportation resources available to take them back home again so they stayed where they were living instead of moving again quickly like everyone else did[7]. It wasn't until 1893 that anyone actually started building new buildings downtown – three stores including J D Hutton's Hardware & Grain store opened up around this time[8]. These early pioneers worked hard but were not well off financially: many felt they had nowhere else better to go[9]:CHURCH OF ST JOHN THE BAPTIST AND MISSIONARY INDIANS
Nampa was founded in 1875 by John F. Chivington, a fur trader and surveyor. The town was named for Nampa River, which flow through the area. In 1901, Nampa became the capital of Idaho. The city was renamed Boise in 1907 after General George Armstrong Custer, who died in an accident at Fort Harrison near Boise City.
