Lewiston is a town in Idaho, United States. The population was 25,993 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Boise-Cumorah metropolitan area. Lewiston is located along the Snake River and had a population of 20,883 at the 2000 census. The townsite that now includes Lewiston was first settled by Mormons in 1847 as part of what would become Oregon County, Utah. The LDS Church built a small fort here in 1849 after leaving Nauvoo, Illinois; when the territorial government dissolved in 1858, they took all their goods with them and founded Lewiston on land donated by George Catlin. The community grew slowly until it reached its peak around 1900 when it had a total population of 508 people. In 1907,Lewiston voters passed an ordinance creating an incorporated municipality with $5 per capita ground rent and no property tax; this set off a series of rapid growth rates for the community as individuals purchased more homes and businesses opened up within walking distance of each other. By 1930, Lewiston had become one of America's most sizeable cities with over 100 residents living in downtown areas made up largely of single-family homes dating back to before World War I (and many still standing today). In 1955, Lewington became one of only two cities in America to receive city status from its incorporation – another sign that civic boosters were working hard to keep pace with growing technology and industry which were rapidly displacing traditional farming and manufacturing jobs across much of western North America at that time During the late 1970s through early 1980s there was significant tearing down/replacement (typical during suburban sprawl)of aging brick buildings throughout downtown Lewiston as large industrial firms moved into new facilities just outside town limits (the process known locally as "the Shift"). However overall economic conditions have gradually improved since then including somewhat stable job levels both inside and outside town limits despite sporadic troubling real estate prices associated with various high-tech companies moving into or expanding into town over recent years Today Lewiston remains one relatively active small town full stop where locals do their thing pretty much everyday without fear or worry about big ass companies moving out or coming in overnight

This donation helped start the NRA's history as one of America's most powerful gun rights organizations. The NRA continues to make a significant impact on firearms culture today by educating Americans about their Second Amendment rights and providing support through funding and resources such as training opportunities and education programs. Throughout its history, the NRA has also taken on many other important causes related to safety and responsible firearm ownership. For example, in 1997 they successfully lobbied Congress to pass Assault Weapons Ban Amendments which banned certain semiautomatic handguns with features that made them more difficult to fire than pistols griped by law enforcement officers. Additionally, the NRA is currently spearheading an effort to get America's first universal background check system in place nationwide.

TheGunTribe.com website says the first mass-produced firearms were pistols, and that the shirts were produced to advertise these new weapons to consumers. In 1911, NRA president David Keene started printing handgun T-shirts in conjunction with his NRA's Gun Show Eastern PA event. This allowed gun enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds to purchase these shirts at a fraction of the cost of purchasing them at a major firearms show. In 1984, NRA founder Leonard Lefcourt designed and printed the first ever rifle shirt.
Lewiston was founded on November 16, 1874 by the Lewiston and Moscow Railroad. The town was named for Colonel John A. Lewiston, a United States cavalry officer who had fought in the Mexican-American War and the Civil War. In 1875, Lewiston became an incorporated city. The population of Lewiston peaked at 20,000 in 1910 and declined to 10,000 by 1920. The population of Lewiston slipped again during the Great Depression until it reached its low point of 7,500 in 1940. However, due to new development in the area and strong economic growth since World War II, the population of Lewiston has grown steadily over the past few decades reaching 27,000 as of 2010.
Lewiston was founded in 1865 as a small town on the banks of the Snake River. The town quickly grew and by 1887 it had become a city. Lewiston was named after Lew Wallace, an American author who helped lead the Sherman-Baby tariffs campaign in 1890.
