In 1892, they organized the first church meeting here in central Idaho Territory and called themselves “the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” or “LDS Church”. The first temple was built here in 1893 and it remains one of the most popular tourist destinations today for those interested in Mormonism – both within India as well as abroad! Since then, Kuna has been an important cultural center for Latter-day Saint communities across North America and throughout the world including serving as home to many high levelChurch meetings such as General Conference (2008), Annual Meeting (2002), First Presidency Meeting (2004) . As an integral part of Utah’s Dixie region since 2002, Kuna has also become known for its agricultural production which includes hay, cattle, eggs and crops like potatoes
Kuna, Idaho was founded on July 1, 1875 by a group of pioneers from California. The town was named after the upstream tribe that had settled in what is now Kuna County. The first post office in the town was established on December 7, 1875. Kuna began to grow rapidly and by 1888 it had a population of around 100 residents. In 1914 the United States Congress designated Kuna as a county seat and by 1925 it had reached its current size with a population of 6,000 people.
