In 1916, Kuna became part of the city of Boise and did not again become a separate community until 1987 when it was annexed into Boise. Kuna has experienced many ups and downs throughout its history. In 1951, after a fire destroyed most of the buildings in downtown Kuna, Mayor Doi ordered all citizens to leave their homes for two weeks so that new building could be constructed on a more sane scale. During this time period, many businesses closed due to lack of workers or difficulty finding ingredients necessary for rebuilding such an extensive damage done by fire. In 1984-85, when Black Hawk helicopters crashed near town limits killing six people including three mayors and one congressman – much discussion occurred about whether or not anything could have been done to prevent this tragedy; however no official charges were brought against any individuals responsible for cause or contributing factors leading up to it In 1990-91 when construction began on Interstate 80 through central Boise – much excitement ensued as this would be something which would change forever both physically and economically across eastern Idaho In 2001-02 following several earthquakes that struck around central Idaho – notably magnitude 5.7 at Payette County Fairgrounds – there was widespread panic among local residents as fears grew that traditional values like agriculture might go out completely if quake damage increased significantly Although no physical damage took place during either earthquake strike (apart from some broken windows), fear ran high amongst locals as they worried about any possible economic impacts resulting from these events
