Our history with safe-keeping begins in 1881 when the city of Boise installed the first municipal safe. The safe was designed to protect the citizens from robbery and theft. In 1905, The Idaho Statesman began printing its own paper, which required the installation of a new printing press. This new press necessitated the creation of a new safe room in City Hall. The room was named after Mayor Wm. Davenport and became known as “Mayor’s Room” because it housed the mayor’s office and all public records pertaining to government activity in town. In 1921, City Council voted to install a second municipal safe that could be used by members of council and their families. This additionalsafe was located at 6th Avenue and 2nd Street in downtown Idaho Falls and was called Municipal Safe No. 2. It still remains operable today! In 1941, one more municipal safe was added to our collection when we replaced our original Municipal Safe No 1 with Municipal Safe No 3 (still operational). Since then, we’ve been installing high-qualitysafes that can withstand all types of abuse! Idaho Falls is a small town in the U.S. state of Idaho. The population was 1,976 at the 2010 census, down from 2,003 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Boise metropolitan area. The falls are located on the Snake River, just south of its confluence with the Little Snake River and east of Boise City proper. Idaho Falls takes its name from nearby Fort Bridger—the original site of modern-day Boise—and also from General George Armstrong Custer's last stand near here in 1877. The first white people to visit Idaho Falls were Kit Carson and his party in 1869, during their survey for US Army Corps of Engineers; they named it Fort Bridger after General Custer's encampment some 20 miles upstream on the Clearwater River (now known as North Main Street). The next year, Captain James H. Hill’s wagon train passed through town en route to Fort Hall; he was looking for a shortcut across country then covered by snowdrifts that winter! In 1870–71 Lieutenant Colonel John Woolridge explored and surveyed what would become Boise Valley; he called it Woolridge Station because no one else wanted it! When Woolridge returned to civilization in 1872–73 his wagon train ran into trouble crossing Utah Mountains: high peaks made travel difficult and more dangerous than usual; they had to turn back instead of continue on their way! A later Hudspeth Party - led by Captains John Sutter (1875) and Donald McKay - traveled upriver to explore both sides of Snake River below present-day Idaho Falls before returnimg downstream in 1876 – thus beginning commercial logging operations which continued until about 1910 when all but a few trees were cut down for lumber production elsewhere in America . In 1930 construction began on Civic Center Park across from Historic Idaho Falls Resort where now fairgrounds host numerous concerts each summer including national touring acts like Fleetwood Mac®, Bruce Springsteen®, Bon Jovi®, etc., among others Some early residents included Jacob Riis who settled around this time along with Elijah Parish (1798)amphisandro de la Mesa y Peralta (1824), José Altamira y Ortega (1827), Manuel Nieto de Torres y Arellano (1828), Carlos Giron y Ruiz (c 1795-1800), Francisco Marqués de las Casas y Valdés(1788-1847)amphibio Ortiz(1793-1800).
