In 1877, Idaho Falls became the first city in what is now the United States to be founded as a result of territorial annexation by the United States. The city was named after the falls on the Klondike River. In 1902, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints founded a mission in Idaho Falls and it remains an active church today.
Idaho Falls is a small town in eastern Idaho, located about 20 miles west of the state capital, Boise. The population was 705 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pocatello micropolitan area. The name "Idaho Falls" was given to it by General John Custer as a place where he could rest and recuperate from his long ride from Fort Bridger to Battle Creek on December 6, 1876. The falls are about 10 miles (16 km) east of the town, and can be reached by hiking or biking trails. The history of Idaho Falls goes back to 1860 when gold was discovered in what is now this state. A man named George Hinkle developed a mill here in 1865 and started exporting flour and other goods out of the town until 1862 when an Indian raid destroyed his mills. In 1870, another man named Amos Snead arrived with a claim to land that included what is now Idaho Falls. He built a dam on the Snake River which power sawmills, began shipping lumber downriver, and founded what would become known as Snead’s Millinery Company. In 1902, Jens Jensen purchased most of the property around today’s downtown from Amos Snead for $2 million dollars; since then it has been gradually annexed into the city limits thereof through annexation after various deals were made between cities and industries over time- including those by both Boise and Pocatello mayors during their terms of office respectively between 1978-1982 (see list below). Today's downtown area includes over 120 businesses including restaurants, hotels/motels/resorts etc., making it one of North America's busiest shopping districts outside New York City or Los Angeles combined!

In 1795, Nicholas-Jacques Conte designed a pistol bullet that was both small enough to be fired rapidly and had low speed so as not to cause injury or damage to targets close by. This bullet was known as the “Carcano” bullet because it was developed in 1814 by Carlo Carcano, an Italian scientist who worked on Nicholas-Jacques Conte’s pistol. The popularity of handguns led to the development of rifles, which could be used with cartridges that could be shot multiple times without reloading. The introduction of rifle bullets allowed soldiers on battlefields to shoot accurately at distances up to several hundred yards away. Rifle bullets also became more powerful as they were developed, allowing them to kill targets at much greater distances than handgun bullets. The advent of machineguns facilitated the use of rifle bullets in large numbers against infantry troops and armored vehicles alike. Machineguns can fire explosively formed projectiles (EFPs), which are created when explosives are detonated within a barrel filled with gas or air pellets that have been twisted into an ellipse shape by means such as heat treatment or pressure waves reaction/ welding). EFP projectiles have great destructive power compared to traditional rounds due their high velocity and range ability over short ranges (<25m). As such, they represent an important part of military doctrine in terms of firepower while also providing protection against hostile personnel or vehicle occupants inside fortified areas or urban areas where armoured vehicles may not exist or cannot penetrate

Today, the town is home to a variety of businesses and residents. The history of Idaho Falls can be traced back to 1868 when gold was discovered in California. The miners who had come from all over the United States started working in California’s Gold Rush. They found rich veins of gold and realized that they could make a fortune if they mined this new source of income. When it came to their townsite, these miners elected to name their settlement after George Washington and his wife Martha Washington. The townspeople chose this name because it conveyed America’s values- democracy, patriotism, and self-reliance. The mining process took place on an old millrace called Potomac River which flowed through the center of town. In 1902, Pepsi Cola made its first appearance in Idaho Falls when it was sent as a sample product to investors at the Bottling Company on State Street. This event marked an important change for the town as Pepsi Cola became one of its mainstay products. In 1978, PepsiCola merged with Coca Cola and now known as Quaker Oats brand
