HaggertyKnives (now part of Gerber) began production of knifes in 1884 when Andrew Haggerty opened a shop at 113 S Main Street in Boise City, Idaho Territory. His initial designs were based on European models but he soon realized that American users wanted better edged tools for home improvement tasks such as whittling or carving wood. He created his first knife, the Alabama Axe, in 1889 from a crude piece of steel he had acquired from a Native American trader during his travels through America's West Coast region

Hayden, Idaho is a small town located in the Eagle County region of western Utah. The population was 1,838 at the 2010 census. Hayden is notable for its significant Mormon community and Hayden High School, which has been named one of "The Top 10 High Schools in America" by Newsweek. Hayden began as an agricultural settlement on the edge of what is now called Weber County in 1875. It was first known as Tooele because it was near the forks of the John Day and Heron rivers. In 1890, Hayden became part of Carbon County and then Childress County when those counties were created from portions of Weber and Carbon counties. The men who founded Hayden did so to provide a base for wagon trains carrying goods to Cache Valley during the wintertime. They left behind many descendants who still live here today. In 1907, Hayward organized itself into a city under the name of Hayden City after adopting a model ordinance establishing municipal government with mayoral powers and a school board composed of five residents rather than three members elected at-large like previous cities had been. The first mayor was local man Hyrum Sargent who served until 1912 when he was replaced by J C Bigham Jr.. In 1916, Mayor Bigham resigned after convictions for embezzlement brought about by his zeal to improve city services included increased spending on streetlights and waterworks; these scandals led to his recall that year by two thirds vote of those voting (1,297 against him). A new mayor took office on December 5, 1916 with Hiram Ainsworth as its first resident; he served until 1933 when he retired due to ill health and bequeathed more than $100,000 to local charities including $25,000 to charity each year from 1917 through 1932 inclusive On February 15th 1934 Mayor Ainsworth died suddenly at home at age 74 leavingoffice vacant for 36 years until Joseph Riggs was elected Mayorship on November 3rd 1979 becoming 4th person ever born in this territory having also participated in all 3 prior elections while serving concurrently as Chairman Emeritus/CEO Eastern Washington University’s School Of Business Administration
