However, this mine never came online and now there is little use for it except as part of an agricultural area next to town. For example, it is home to two high schools – Sheridan High School and Salmon Valley Elementary School – as well as several businesses such as Farmers Market Place and Hanna's Pizza restaurant. There are also several parks within walking distance of the town center which provide plenty of activities for local children and adults alike

These advancements have resulted in today’s most advance projectiles: armor piercing munitions (WP) that can penetrate body armor and deliver significant damage; incendiary munitions that cause destruction by igniting combustible materials within their target; and hunting rounds designed specifically for killing small game orelope or hogs with pinpoint accuracy from a long range position
Hayden was founded in 1907 by a group of Idaho farmers, led by Ira Hayden. The town grew rapidly and soon had a population of over 1,000 people. Hayden became known for its agriculture products, such as hay, oats, barley and potatoes. The town also produced lumber and jewelry. In the 1920s, Hayden began to prosper as a result of its location on the Snake River Plain. By 1941, the town had grown to 3,000 people and it became an important agricultural center in the region. In the 1970s and 1980s however, Hayden's economy changed because of its proximity to Boise. As a result of this change in economic direction, Hayden lost much of its community spirit and declined from its former prosperity.
Hayden was founded in 1902 by J.D. Hayden and his partners, W.L. Moffitt and C.E. Simms, as a small mining town about 25 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho on the Snake River Plain. By 1907, Hayden had become an important agricultural center with woolen and cotton farming developing; it was also home to a large cattle ranch and two newspapers, the Hayden Tribune and the Boise Daily News. In 1916, Hayden became the first incorporated city in Idaho when its citizens voted to secede from neighboring Ada County (now part of Boise). The city's original City Hall building still stands today along with many other buildings from its early years including the post office, bank, schoolhouse, jail and fire department.
