Eagle,Idaho has a rich history of optical accessories. The city was founded by the Boise brothers in 1907 as a sawmill town. Eagle, Idaho was founded in 1902 as a small town on the banks of the Snake River. The community grew rapidly, and by 1904 Eagle had a post office, hotels, and schools. By 1916 Eagle had become an agricultural center with over 100 businesses. In 1929 the US Post Office moved to its present location in downtown Eagle.

Eagle is a small town in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho. It lies on the banks of the Salmon River, about midway between Boise and Nampa. The population was 1,849 at the 2010 census. Eagle's ZIP Code is 82002. The first Europeans to visit what is now Eagle were fur traders from Canada in 1827. A post office was established here in 1848, and by 1860 there were 9 residents. In 1886 the United States Railway built a line through Eagle and it became an important transportation center for local miners and farmers west of Boise. By 1910 Eagle had a population of 2,000 people and was becoming known as a "magna carta" community because of its quality schools, churches, hospitals, stores and businesses. During World War II Eagle played an important role in supplying military forces throughout America with goods needed for war production such as ammunition and gasoline. After the warAAF airfields were constructed nearby - these will remain one of Eagle's most important landmarks today as part of USAF Air National Guard Base Atchison- Topeka-Elkhorn (ATA). A new elementary school opened here in 1951; after that it served as the high school until 1990 when it was replaced by nearby Topeka High School which also serves as ground zero for many events including the Dewey Decimal System Conference which took place here in 1977 and has been held every year since then within walking distance of both schools. In 1990 construction began on what would become Idaho State University (ISU) - this campus would be located just two miles east of downtown Eagleton on what is now called Main Street. ISU would eventually serve not only Eagle but also neighboring towns such as Nampa until its closure in 2000 due to budget cuts. US Gun Source
