Alaskan Malamute dogs were used as research animals at this station until 1971. In 1934, Chubbuck started an agricultural cooperative with seven other farmers in the area. This cooperative became known as the United Plains Farmers Cooperative Union No. 2A. It lasted until 1951 when it merged into another agricultural cooperative, United Plains Farmers Cooperative Union No. 7A.
